Custom Legends-inspired Spartan figure

Halo Goodies at HMB
There are a few nice tidbits this weekend at Hawty McBloggy's - she found a customized female mohawked Spartan on eBay (sold yesterday morning for $8.50), a reminder to play Halo 2 this week (that picture scares me), and instructions for a Super Happy Fun Time Kit from Grin + Bear It (I can see lots of shenanigans ensuing from this). Custom Lightmaps in Halo CE
In other Halo CE news, we got word of Precipice - it's one of the first maps to benefit from custom lightmaps. The team has managed to import Tool's default lightmaps into 3ds max - and can now render some gorgeous maps that are much better than what you can get out of Tool. The bar continues to be raised!Update: Siliconmaster482, the mapmaker for Precipice, clarified that though custom lightmaps are PLANNED for the map, the screenshots visible now are using the lower-quality Tool-generated maps. Not A Halo Ring
Dani, the man behind Forward Unto Dawn, received an in-game message last night during HaloGAF's weekly custom games. The message came from his girlfriend, and was facilitated by DiabolicalBagel, a friend. Buy Oonsk - 5000 cR
Back a bit earlier than expected - time to summarize the cool news of the day. The reveal (as expected) was Halo: Reach's Player Investment System - it's the way Bungie's going to keep you playing Reach... a LOT. Info, as it showed up for me:
- The initial reveal happened at G4TV - an article, coupled with a 7-minute video (mostly just a discussion between two editors), explains the system, and how it's going to work.
- Tied the Leader wrote up a glowing recommendation of the system, and why it shows that Bungie loves you. (Thanks, urk.)
- A large discussion involving lots of cool stuff happened on our forum - join in. (Thanks, BuzzJuice, for kicking it off.)
- G4TV updated their image gallery with 12 shots of the system at work - thanks again, urk.

Project Lumoria
Wow. There've been a few forays into single-player gameplay with Halo: Custom Edition - but mostly they've been recreations of the standard Halo PC campaign levels, or small tests. Check out Lumoria - a full campaign experience from the TM Mapping Team. It's not available for download yet, but the link above should show you where they're going. Exciting stuff! HBO Customs - play Halo with nice people
rolandk73 and Hyokin have been building up interest and attendance for a weekly Friday-night gathering they call "HBO Customs Night". It's not officially endorsed, or anything... but let's face it; the staff here is never going to find the time to set up something like this, so if you're interested in playing Halo 3 customs games with folks from the HBO forums, this might be a nice alternative!
