Dual Magnums A few days ago, Luke McKay posted a Halo-related Doodle of the Day on his Rooster Teeth profile. Pretty nice! We've added it to his gallery here. (Tom Van Sinden 19:24:31 UTC) (permalink)
GamePlan - Strategy Planning
Hmm... kornman00 pointed out an App (iOS or Android) that can help you plan out games, including Halo Wars. Check out his post for more info! (Tom Van Sinden 19:21:54 UTC) (permalink)
Grab your ankles...
Wow. Team Carbon didn't feel like they had enough of a challenge in standard matchmaking... so when this game started up, they continually committed suicide until they were down 57 kills (17 to -40; the other team got credit for a bunch of their deaths, by getting a shot or two in before they died). At that point, they started playing for real... and pulled out the win, 50-49. You can watch the entire game from Snipedown's point of view. Thanks, CyReN. (Tom Van Sinden 18:27:06 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 4 Play Event Impressions
Took a little longer than I'd expected, but I've summarized what i can remember from the NYC Halo 4 event I was lucky enough to have been invited to last week. You can find it in our Miscellaneous section. Not sure how much new content is in there... but at the very least, it's a central location for what I've said so far. Goodies from Bungie
So being gone last week meant that Bungie's website didn't get the love it normally does from me - and there's been quite a bit of new content recently. - The Bungie Forum Tryhards had a ridealong last Thursday - DeeJ got a chance to play some Reach matchmaking with folks who consider it their calling to help others get better at the game.
- A new Mail Sack went live on Friday - there are weird questions and even weirder answers. Those people are ODD.
- The latest Breaking In went live last night - Darren Bacon is a Senior Concept Artist who likes cars and t-shirts. I mean, really - what else is there?
- Over on YouTube, Bungie posted Behind the Scenes: Making of Halo 2, the documentary that could previously be found bundled with the Limited Edition version of Halo 2. If you haven't seen this, it's absolutely worth the hour or so. (And hey - I'm in it!)
For a totally dark studio... they're pretty full of stuff. CONTENT! FULL OF CONTENT! (Tom Van Sinden 14:26:07 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 and Reach - Speed Runs are fun!
RC Master pointed out a couple of new speed runs available at High Speed Halo: New Alexandria on Easy in under 8 minutes, by cyph9r (pretty amazing), and The Covenant on Legendary in under 15 minutes, by Cheeseliker92. Go check 'em both out! (Tom Van Sinden 14:25:30 UTC) (permalink)
#SoSick: Bravo's Top 6 Plays - Episode 1
Big E33 was pretty proud of the fact that he made it into BravoMLG's first episode of #SoSick, a Top 6 series. After watching the clip, I'd say he was justified. (Tom Van Sinden 14:20:29 UTC) (permalink)
The Inspirations For Halo 4 Game Informer posted a new vid yesterday - various members of the 343 dev team discussed their inspirations for working on Halo 4. There's a bonus vid on YouTube - The Science Behind the Halo Series has Frankie talking about where things might come from, and where it might be going. Thanks to both TheOddOne at NeoGAF and nillapuddin on our own forum. (Tom Van Sinden 14:05:41 UTC) (permalink)
