October 12, 2011 Link to this post I weep for gaming journalism
There are websites out there that really, really shouldn't be writing reviews of upcoming products. A hands-on preview of Halo: Anniversary went live on Beefjack this morning that seems to have been written under the mistaken impression that there's a multiplayer component that is separate from the Reach maps being released with the game - that "it's the original Halo with online support and a new engine, marged onto the Reach servers." Huhwha? (This thread at N4G has a response from Giddens, the author of the piece, which contains the comment "There is a multiplayer component to Halo Anniversary beyond the Reach multiplayer. I know, I played it.") Thanks to NeoGAF's wwm0nkey for noticing this - and to anyone actually READING it, please don't believe that there is ANY multiplayer in Anniversary beyond the Reach-based maps. Because there isn't.
