Birth of a Trailer
There's an interesting breakdown of the visual effects used to create the 'Birth of a Spartan' trailer for Halo Reach over at fxguide - discussion includes choice of environment, how the external shots were done, what was modeled and what was real, how the medical stuff was handled.
