Spoilers Say Goodnight
FyreWulff noticed that the spoiler cookie we had had expired - so no newsposts marked with a 'spoiler' tag could be seen. Since there haven't BEEN any newsposts marked with a spoiler tag in a year and a half (and only a handful in the year or two before that), I decided it's time to retire the cookie system. At some point, all code that reads cookies will be removed - but for now, the system is hardcoded to give everyone a 'read all' setting. (This isn't currently true with the RSS feed - but since there's no way to see 18-month-old newsposts in the RSS feed, this should be irrelevant.) We'll continue the current policy of not posting news with spoilers without warning - but at the moment, there's not a problem with that, either. (Louis Wu 20:18:26 UTC)
