May 30, 2006 Link to this post Halo Movie Timeline - The Real, and The Imagined One of the downsides of running a relatively popular Halo fansite is that we hear all the rumors, many, many times... and I worry about giving those rumors extra credibility simply by acknowledging them. Sometimes, though, a rumor is so widespread that NOT acknowledging it seems pointless - a recent one, 'The Halo Movie has been pushed back to 2008' appears to be one of those. This first showed up on IMDb a few days ago - the release date had been changed from 2007 to 2008, without any explanation. It was mentioned several times on our forum (usually to responses of 'IMDb lets anyone edit their content - that's not trustworthy'), but yesterday, started showing up on bigger gaming sites (TeamXbox, Kotaku). None of this has been confirmed with anyone who actually knows anything - but common sense suggests it's probably true; as far as anyone in the public knows, not even a director has been chosen at this point, and the end of 2007 is just 19 months away. That's a pretty tight schedule for a film - if it has no cast or crew, or filming schedule. Hopefully, we'll get word of what's going on in the not-too-distant future... but in the absence of that official word, the internet will continue to oblige by filling the vacuum with rumors.
