Everything Old is New Again with The Cutting Room Floor
This is very cool—343i has a Halowaypoint post detailing old cut content from the early Halo games, and the efforts to resurrect them, as part of a month-long content drop. There's some great treats in this first installment, so check it out! h/t to Cody Moore.

Bad Cyborg is now local

For years (well, decades - we started reporting on his megabattle obsession in early 2004), Rockslider has been exploring the depths of the original Halo physics, and reporting his results. There are literally hundreds of videos in his collection, and the level of his commitment has been breathtaking. Recently, however, he announced that he was moving on from Halo, and that he was going to let the badcyborg.net domain expire. We offered a local archive, and he took us up on the offer - so this amazing collection of videos, started before Halo 3: ODST launched, continues to be available to you. Go explore! All the bling. All of it.
This is... amazing. A cosplayer and a designer have teamed up to build a helmet with 25,000 Swarovski crystals on it, and are selling it on eBay to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. There is still over a week remaining on the auction - current bid is a bit over $3500 US. (The helmet is in Taiwan, and being auctioned by Xbox Taiwan.) Whether or not you can afford this, you owe it to yourself to at least go look. Thanks to Tex for the heads-up on this. (Louis Wu 19:54:32 UTC)

Halo 5: Guardians
Halo 4: Guardians This morning, 343's Bonnie Ross announced Halo's next main title: "Halo 5: Guardians". In it, she promised not only an impressive title coming to the Xbox One in the fall of 2015 - but she hinted at a pretty fun Halo-related year THIS year, too (with a full announcement coming on June 9, at the E3 media briefing). There's also a little more detail directed straight at fans, from Frank O'Connor, over at Halo Waypoint - along with a very interesting piece of artwork. Go give 'em both a read, then jump into our forum and discuss! (Louis Wu 16:13:45 UTC)

Buy a Spartan Sculpt for Christmas
We've mentioned Jason Evans a number of times - he does some beautiful Spartan sculpts that you can actually buy from him. He's back, with the promised buy-for-Christmas sculpt we pointed out in November - if these two shots aren't enough, there are more on his Facebook page. (You can also use that page to contact him for purchase details.)

A final farewell from a French tricking clan
Outside ChiefJefferson stopped in with one last montage video of Halo tricks recorded on Halo Anniversary. It was released a bit over a month ago, but this is the first we're seeing it - and it's a great watch. IT's a combination of fun tricks I've never seen, along with recreations of some classics from the original game. 6 minutes long, and I was captivated the whole time! (Louis Wu 14:35:06 UTC)

Now THAT'S a heckuva statue.
Congratulations to mikimarquez - he won a Spanish contest by showing off his Halo collection (pics below, plus a video showing off his Halo DLC, and a blog devoted to Halo. The grand prize - a life-sized sculpture of the ODST Rookie (here it is, wrapped, next to its winner), might cause some strife - apparently, miki's girlfriend doesn't want the statue in the house because it's too big! Oh, the problems some fans have... :)

New discovery supports old rumor

Destiny

It's time you start believing in destiny.

Tracing the paper trails of Bungie employees, I discovered Podophobia Entertainment, a dummy corporation formed by company president Harold Ryan and composer Martin O'Donnell. And wouldn't you know it, a quick trademark search for the company revealed a listing for "Destiny."

Does that name sound familiar? It's the title an ex-Bungie contractor leaked to Kotaku after he said he was fired. He also said the game blends together first-person shooter, MMO and sci-fi elements.

The trademark describes the game as "[c]omputer game software downloadable from a global computer network."

NeoGAF member Willeth noticed strange symbols on a Bungie employee's T-shirt in a recent video from Penny Arcade. The small symbol on his left shoulder matches the logo in the listing.

According to Trademarkia, the trademark was filed July 20, 2009, and it was granted a second extension on March 7.

Podophobia Entertainment goes back to May 8, 2006, according to the Delaware Division of Corporations. It is now listed as inactive.

The company has a second trademark filed, "Be Brave," which was also granted a second extension on Feb. 24. The description for the trademark is nearly identical to the one for "Destiny." (Hitmonchan 13:38:25 UTC)

A Spartan Sculpt - you can have one too
Last month, I mentioned that Jason Evans had completed some Master Chief sculpts in cold-cast bronze, and sometime earlier, I mentioned that he was interested in selling them to help him pay for the mold. They really seemed pretty cool to me - so I bought a pair. One is for me - it goes on one of my Halo shelves. The other will be given away in an upcoming HBO contest/giveaway. (I have no idea when; I'd first have to come up with a plan for the contest itself.) I took a few shots of this bad boy out in front of our newly-sprouted flowers - because what's more warriorlike than a flowered background? If you can't wait until we actually give the second one away, swing by Jason's gallery here at HBO - there's an email link that will let you get ahold of him directly, and you can buy one right now.
