Machinima Film Festival Nominations
Sgt_Hartsock let us know that This Spartan Life has been nominated for two Mackies (the Machinima Film Festival awards) - it's up for Best Series, and Best Original Music. If you want to learn more, he's set up a club for the show at 1UP.com. Other Halo content up for Mackies this year: Smooth Few Films' Bag Boy (we mentioned it in February) has been nominated for Best Short Format, Best Voice Acting, and Best Writing, and Without Providence (a film I'd never seen, but which you can find on the DouGroup's website) is up for Best Cinematography. (Jonathan Quail, which used to be hosted at GamingTV, received an Honorable Mention in that category.) Blackstone [Log 1], from Dispatch Films (we mentioned it in July) is up for Best Sound Design and Best Editing. And finally, Campaign Episode 1, from William Urbina (another new one for me) received an Honorable Mention in the Best Editing category. (Louis Wu 16:13:05 UTC)

G.R.I.E.F. Trailer
You might remember Smooth Few Films - they've been making machinima for quite some time (with lots of accolades), and have dipped their toes in the Halo 3 world (The Over-Achiever, The Bag Boy, The GunStop Way) - looks like they're back, with a trailer for an upcoming project called 'G.R.I.E.F'. As usual, high production values, huge potential - looking forward to the actual series! Huzzah! Thanks, Rosco-128. (Louis Wu 12:56:01 UTC)

The GunStop Way
Smooth Few Films hasn't created a lot of Halo machinima - but everything they've put out has been of outstanding quality (check our news for details), and they're back with a new piece that rocks. The GunStop Way takes aim at sleazy videogame sales tactics, using sharp humor, polished effects, and good acting. Don't miss this one! (Louis Wu 16:51:49 UTC)

The Bag Boy
Eddy, from Smooth Few Films, let us know that The Bag Boy, a new Halo 3 machinima from the guys who brought you 'The Over-Achiever', is now up - you can download it from their website, or stream it from YouTube. An entertaining look at teabagging, from a father-son duo. (Louis Wu 20:55:52 UTC)

The Over-Achiever
Smooth Few Films whipped up The Over-Achiever for the Ziddio Machinima Contest - you can watch it in high-res at their website, or stream it from YouTube. Yea, verily, does it ring true! (That means it's pretty funny. And well-filmed.) (Louis Wu 20:44:49 UTC)
