Plenty of new features, and just the first of several major upgrades this year! Swing by and try it out. (It's been a while since I visited, and I was pretty impressed with what I saw!) January 7, 2011 Link to this post A Titantic Coincidence? So,G4TV's The Feed thought it interesting enough to note an interesting connection brought up by the podcast "Legendary" on GameBreaker.tv. The gist of it is the rumor that the next Gen MMO Blizzard is working on codenamed "Titan" is actually a Halo MMO. Astute Halo news historians will remember that the previously failed Halo MMO concept (by a different developer) shared the same code name. They draw a few interesting connections and give some evidence to link them, but you can watch/listen and form your own opinion. Color me quite skeptical. (GrimBrother One 19:49:03 UTC)
April 12, 2010 Link to this post The Story Behind Titan
IncGamers has posted an article about the Halo MMO that was in development by Ensemble a few years ago. (We've mentioned it before, but never in the context of it being a 'WoW Killer'...) Thanks, John Zang. (Louis Wu 17:18:12 UTC)
November 18, 2008 Link to this post Looking back on an Age of Innocence
Ensemble's Dave Pottinger talked to Shacknews about the closure of Ensemble Studios - and some information about the cancelled Halo MMO (there was a flurry of info about this project back in September). Sounds like they're pretty unhappy about the closure - and the MMO project had gotten a lot further along than anyone thought! Thanks, vshields ash. (Louis Wu 17:16:49 UTC)
September 25, 2008 Link to this post Halo MMO art continues to surface
Still MORE concept art for the Halo MMO project scrapped by Ensemble is popping up - Kotaku's got another 6 images for you. These definitely have more of a Halo 'feel' to them. Thanks, Ross. (Louis Wu 13:03:32 UTC)
September 24, 2008 Link to this post Wait, you were serious?
GU Comics takes a shot at the recently-unearthed Halo MMO today - thanks, Ross. (Louis Wu 15:33:43 UTC)
September 24, 2008 Link to this post Halo MMO Concept Art
Kotaku posted a huge collection of concept art, ostensibly from the scrapped Halo MMO we mentioned yesterday. These range from interesting to downright silly. gunluva was the first to notice, but the thread I started (I hadn't seen his post) got a lot of heated responses. Join in and add your own comments! September 23, 2008 Link to this post Gamasutra uncovers cancelled Halo MMO Gamasutra has posted a short piece that investigates a cancelled Ensemble Studios project... and concludes that it was a Halo MMO. Go check out the details! (Louis Wu 13:44:16 UTC)
July 19, 2008 Link to this post Halo MMOFPS? The Truth is Out There.
The guys at Rock, Paper, Shotgun have put together what they consider to be clues pointing to a massively multiplayer online first person shooter based in the Halo universe being developed by Microsoft. I'd have to say "tenuous at best" - but it was enough for a writeup in Kotaku. Thanks, Eddy 071. (Louis Wu 09:52:43 UTC)
April 3, 2008 Link to this post C'mon, folks. Think a little.
Apparently, there are still people confused about which of our newsposts on Tuesday were real, and which were April Fools jokes. The Bungie Online Map, HIH closing its doors, Legendary Armor getting a C&D notice, the Halo MMO, and the Halo Wars interview were all fake. Everything else was (as far as I know) real. If the news date says "April 1" and the actual news is hard to believe... look twice. Really. (Louis Wu 11:06:57 UTC)
April 1, 2008 Link to this post Halo: Divide of the Covenant
Casters Realm has news of 'Halo: Divide of the Covenant', a Halo MMO. (Here's a hint, for folks creating April Fools posts in the future - don't use artwork from existing Halo projects if you want to be taken even a LITTLE bit seriously.) Thanks, gunluva. (Louis Wu 20:26:06 UTC)
May 24, 2006 Link to this post MS Corporate Guy talks about the future Shane Kim sat down with IGN to talk about E3 and what's coming down the road. Halo got mentioned a lot - there's nothing really hard there, but there's discussion of Halo 3 (and the platforms it might be available on), the Halo movie, a rumored Halo MMO, the possibility of a Halo-based Xbox Live Arcade game... thanks, HaloPlanet.
