Anniversary Autopsy
kornman00 wanted to let us know about the newest issue of Game Developer Magazine, which runs a regular feature called "Postmortem" (not that one), where a developer breaks down their recent release to talk about the nuts and bolts of what went right, and what went wrong. It's always a great read with excellent insight into the more technical aspects of putting a game together. This month focuses on none other than the recent Halo: Anniversary from 343 Industries & Sabre Interactive. For iOS users, kornman included a handy link to purchase a copy of the digital edition for yourself ($3.99 usd). For those of wu who prefer a less seedy route, RC Master was kind enough to give us a more "standard" link. Definitely go and check it out! (GrimBrother One 05:53:14 UTC)

GAFfable Grab Bag
The fine forum folk over at NeoGAF have been a buzzing a bit with some neat tidbits from around the web. Here is a selection of their sleuthing...

  • Hitmonchan107 found an interesting article from VG24/7 with a few comments from former Bungie founder Alex Seropian (in the news a fair bit lately, 'eh?) talking about his high hopes for Halo's future with 343 Industries.
  • Homeboyd noticed what looks to be a preview for a special OXM UK publication titled "Halo: The Game that Changed the World."
  • Meanwhile VivaciousJazzy wanted to make everyone aware of... well, of this. Don't feel awkward, I couldn't stop watching either.

Go have a look! (GrimBrother One 05:25:36 UTC)

It'll Make You Wish You Were a Woman
Revenant1988 dropped by to let us know that he found some awesome Halo-items while looking for new earrings on the popular site ETSY. Or maybe it was the other way around... At any rate, he found some super cool and cute stuff including patches, posters, and earlobe accessories! Something tells me Mrs. One might be getting a super-heated plasma present in the near-future. Check it out! (GrimBrother One 18:38:58 UTC)

Listen Up! The Bulletin is Out
Frankie himself stopped by with news that the slightly-belated Halo Bulletin is now live. This week's edition features a very cool look at some of the game's audio production, complete with a new OHI entry by Audio Director for Halo 4, Sotaro Tojima. There's a very cool video featuring some audio capture in the field as well. Check it out! (As of this moment, Wu hasn't finished his pottery class, so there isn't a local version just yet, but when he's done, I'm sure he'll put one up between popping bon-bons.) Update: Mmmm, those bon-bons were good! The local version is here. -lwu (GrimBrother One 23:12:11 UTC)

Thanks For The Continuing Legacy, Brian
We start off today's news on a more emotional note... HBO stalwart mad.max paid us a visit to remind us all that it's been a staggering nine years ago now since the Halo - and more specifically Bungie - community lost one of its brightest beacons, Brian Morden, or *Ar-Isildur as he was known to many. His post gives a link as well to the Foundation set up in his name. If you were never privileged to meet his acquaintance, you'll want to check out this link, which will give you a glimpse into this amazing person's life. If you get a chance, stop by the forums and celebrate his legacy by sharing a story. Leaving readers with a good memory and a big smile has to be the best way to remember such an awesome friend. In Which Fronk Comes Upon a Lovely Lady
In a recent unconducted survey, it was found that 87% of HBO members don't wear pants when reading Hedgemony's comics. Well may the moon rise on yet another Samurai Fronk masterpiece, as the greatest love-peddler in the southern hemisphere brings us a community-cameo'd Valentine's Day special edition of our favorite finned fighter. It's strange. It's questionable. It's beautiful. Go and check it out! (GrimBrother One 20:10:04 UTC)

Nothing To Love About This Deal
OXM UK recently added another proposal to their "Fair Trade" featurettes, where they muse about trading an iconic XBOX character away to another console in return for one of their own exclusives. On the block today is trading the Master Chief to Nintendo for Mario. Go and see what they thought about the deal, and use this thread by ElzarTheBam (who let us know about this piece of news) to let us know either why you'd turn the trade down, or why you must be nuts!
