Halo news back Thursday, July 17, 2014 Halo news forward

Next Stop: San Diego
The Halo Bulletin is short and sweet this week - there's a summary of what will be at San Diego Comic-Con next week, along with Matchmaking updates (for the Halo fans not totally immersed in the Destiny Beta, of course), some cool Halo-themed Forza content, and some great 'Quarterback' screenshots. Read it at Halo Waypoint, or read it right here in our Halo Bulletin Archive. (Louis Wu 21:46:07 UTC) (permalink)

MS studio closure shouldn't affect Halo projects
There've been rumblings all week about layoffs at Microsoft... and today, Variety has an article explaining that Xbox Entertainment Studios, responsible for (among other stuff) the two live-action Halo projects currently in the works, is going to be closed. However, it sounds like both projects are among those which will see completion - or at least that's the plan now.

Tellem, Jordan Levin and some of the Xbox Entertainment Studios team will remain with the company to see the completion of its original programming already in production, Microsoft said.

That includes "Halo," the first major project spearheaded by the division, is in advanced negotiations for a pickup at Showtime in a shared window with Xbox. Project is a co-production with Amblin TV.

Others are the "Halo" prequel story "Nightfall," exec produced by Ridley Scott, and the docu "Signal to Noise," about the notorious Atari "E.T" game flop in the early 1980s.

(Bolding mine, to show that both Halo projects are mentioned specifically.) Thanks to thebruce0 for noticing. (Louis Wu 21:27:08 UTC) (permalink)

Cloak and Dagger
So every Monday (almost), Rooster Teeth releases a new episode of Red vs Blue Season 12. This past Monday was no exception... but we're just getting to letting you know about it now. We suck. But they don't. This episode is... well, you should watch it. Episode 9 was all about setup - Episode 10 is the punchline for all that. And let me tell you... it packs a wallop. Pay close attention to the music, and you might actually figure out what's going on before it's revealed. Great stuff. (Louis Wu 20:54:45 UTC) (permalink)

I'm not at all clear how I missed this (for 3 MONTHS)... but there's been a story in our Fan Fiction queue since late April. Apologies to RogueDragon1 for the astoundingly long delay! (Louis Wu 20:40:03 UTC) (permalink)
