AGDQ 2014 Halo 2 Speedrun NOKYARD found an archived version of Monopoli's Halo 2 speed run from Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 - if you weren't able to watch it in the wee hours of the morning now is your chance. Monopoli and crew provide some really great commentary on their strategies and some insight into how the game was built and how it functions. CyReN pointed out
that that stream of Halo 2 overtook League of Legends as the most viewed game on Twitch! Pretty impressive for a game that came out in 2004. (colindosaj 23:36:35 UTC) (permalink)
Halo: Escalation #2 GameRevolution has posted a review of Halo: Escalation #2 - it's more of a quick summary of the action, but it serves as a nice reminder that the issue will be available tomorrow, both in stores and via digital download. Grab your copy! (Louis Wu 22:34:28 UTC) (permalink)
We're doing it because we think it really matters OXM has an interview with Microsoft's Phil Spencer - he talks about the Halo TV series coming from MS and Steven Spielberg. It's an interesting read - it gives some insight into how MS sees Halo, going forward. Thanks to Grizzlei, who found it at examiner.com. (Louis Wu 22:11:21 UTC) (permalink)
Can you endure? TrueAchievements' Achievement of the Week this week is ODST's Endure Achievement - swing by the site and complete it for yourself (or help others do so)! Thanks to Morpheus for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 22:06:15 UTC) (permalink)
Why I Game This isn't really Halo-related, but it's video-game related, and the submitter shows up around here quite a bit. Gina 'Dogiojoe' Johnson has just kicked off a Kickstarter campaign for a book she's written called 'Why I Game' - it's a response to the 'video games are responsible for violence' reaction after many gun-related tragedies in this country. There are Halo-specific perks, in honor of her favorite hero, Master Chief. Check it out! (Louis Wu 22:03:45 UTC) (permalink)
Best Films Never Made #3 - Neill Blomkamp's Halo An article focusing on the aborted Halo film helmed by Neil Blomkamp was written last April at One Room with a View... but it popped up in my Google feed last night. Weird. It's a nice overview of the project, and contains a bunch of tidbits I'd never seen before. Definitely worth a read. (Louis Wu 21:59:25 UTC) (permalink)
