Reach Continues in the News
More Reach coverage - CNet has a 37-minute video podcast in which Reach is played (the Campaign footage is the same as we've seen a dozen times during E3, but the Firefight footage is worth watching - Halo footage starts around 17 minutes in), and Joystiq has a preview with... well, no new info. One Life Remaining: S2: Episode 3
I could have sworn we just mentioned a recent episode of One Life Remaining Season 2... but there's a NEW one (Episode 3), posted just a few days ago. (Maybe we'll catch up soon?) New Halo Toys - coming soon
Stephen Loftus noticed some new Halo items coming soon - Toychest News has info about upcoming Halo Reach action figures (they'll be here in September), and Alter Ego Comics is shwoing off a pre-order for a Cortana vinyl 8-inch statue (you can own this in December). Also coming in September is a radio-controlled Scorpion, to go along with your Warthog, Mongoose, and Hornet). Nice! Massive Halo CE News Roundup
Our Halo CE watcher has sent along a pretty amazing update of what's going on around the Custom Edition community - explore these links!
- Ifafudafi released a video showing off the new particle effects he's added to the Plasma Pistol (along with tons of interesting commentary)
- ShadowSpartan has been working on a real-time Tag Editor; check out the video to watch the interface in action. No more text editing, saving changes, firing up Halo, looking at the change, quitting, re-editing, etc - now you can see your changes as you play. Pretty cool!
- Siliconmaster's Precipice is getting awfully pretty!
- CtrlAltDestr0y2 has been playing with the flamethrower effects - nice work! - and has added a feature that not even Halo 3 had: destructible projectiles.
- Project Lumoria continues to evolve - check out the latest pics, they're gorgeous.
- There's a cool Firefight-type map that gives you credits for finishing waves, which you can use to purchase weapons - interesting!
- An open letter to the developers of Halo 2 Vista has been written - some thought-provoking views in there.
- And finally, some fans are putting together a virtual convention to celebrate the community - nice!
