Evil Gets an Upgrade You might remember a little feature we hosted last year - Daniel 'Tyrant' Morris created a Halo 3 Mythic Guide, showing you how to get through the game on Legendary difficulty, with all skulls on. Well, he hasn't been resting on his laurels - he's been putting together a new version of this guide, with new, faster, more efficient routes and tricks - and we're proud to help him host it. Presenting The Halo 3 Mythic Walkthrough, Version 2.0. Conceived as an add-on, rather than a replacement, the original tips and level walkthroughs are still available if you'd like to compare... but each level will now have a NEW walkthrough, with new tricks and videos. (Check the Home Page of the new guide for a fully-updated set of Tips and Tricks.) He'll be posting levels to coincide with his Summer Mythic Recon Challenge - so if you haven't completed this week's run of The Storm yet, you can use the Storm page of his new guide to shave some time off your effort! You guys rock. Plain and simple.
Hawty McBloggy sent along an update for the Fundfax Fairraiser, the charity event she hosted for a few days last week - an amazing chunk of change was generated in the few days she was able to keep it running (over $6000!), and she's still working on a method of picking the winners publicly. Swing by and give it a read! Congrats to everyone who made this a success, in spite of some unexpected roadblocks! (Louis Wu 22:22:44 UTC) (permalink)
PanoMania
We've posted a couple of batches of panoramas from dutch Halo player 2good4u2 (here and here) - now his brother 2good4u is doing it, and his first batch is on our forum. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 21:27:25 UTC) (permalink)
The Anatomy of a Sarkathlon
Mr Sark sent word that he'd been interviewed on the gameblog Digital Kuroko - it's an interesting discussion about the creation of his Sarkathlons, the Halo 3 obstacle courses that have generated interest from thousands of gamers. It's just 20 minutes long - go listen! (Louis Wu 21:15:57 UTC) (permalink)
Halo Wars: Birth of a Mission
Another Dev Blog went live at HaloWars.com yesterday - Designer Joe Gillum discusses how a mission took shape, from concept to enactment. Interesting read! Thanks, 2900d4u. (Louis Wu 18:35:33 UTC) (permalink)
Bungie Favorites: Major League Driving, Week 2
Bungie.net's updated the Bungie Favorites section, using another batch of goodies from Major League Driving. Swing by to see what they have to offer! (Louis Wu 17:58:19 UTC) (permalink)
Assassination
Lando Griff1n let us know about a new montage from HAZMAT v2 - it's 17 minutes long, and REALLY heavy on the editing. The HD download weighs in at a seriously meaty 600 mb (but there's a streaming version available on the Halo3Montage.com page). I liked the 'Unexplained' section (though I wish it had been brighter). Take a look!

Charity Halo 3 2v2 Tourney in TN
In early June, we mentioned a charity tournament being organized to raise money to help search for a missing teenager in Tennessee. The tournament scheduling is much farther along now - looks like it'll be taking place on July 18, in Newport, TN. Swing by JeSteR 343's forum post for full details. Vids, and such A couple of new movies for you, courtesy of the BungLog™: - Top 10 Halo 3 Splatters HD shows off (surprise, surprise) ten splatter vids. I'd say number 8 was the best of the bunch, unfortunately.
- Halo 3 Crudbusters takes a relatively unsubtle approach to parodying the Halo 3 Mythbusters videos - but I like the last one quite a bit.
Be like Chauncy Gardner. (Louis Wu 16:36:18 UTC) (permalink)
