Rumors, probably fake
Over at NeoGAF, Stormtrooper30 pointed out a rumor that popped up on the Europe-Nintendo forums (heh) suggesting that in the next few months, Microsoft would begin patching original Xbox titles to retroactively add achievements. First on the supposed list? Halo: Combat Evolved. Before you get your hopes up, Luke Smith immediately chimed in with a sobering comment: "That's nothing we've heard of." It's POSSIBLE that Microsoft is doing this without Bungie's knowledge... but not horribly likely. (Luke also pointed out how much work it would be to retrofit an older game with achievements.
