Halo: 800 Pound Gorilla, or Misunderstood Giant? Cinema Blend (a website that has not shown a lot of love for Halo in the past) has a new editorial up - this time, they're claiming that Halo 2 and Halo 3 multiplayer are stifling your online gaming options. The argument is that since everyone online is playing Halo 2 or Halo 3, there aren't any gamers providing pools of competitors for OTHER games. Does this seem like a reasonable argument to you? Or is it possible that folks are playing Halo online because they ENJOY it more than their other options? Feel free to discuss this in our forum, or leave a comment on the CB page. Guilt O' Lantern '08: Voting Open! Even though we didn't list prizes until the last minute, we STILL got 53 entries for this year's Guilt O' Lantern contest (one fewer than last year). Some of them are truly amazing; all of them are fun. Take a few minutes, look through the entries (be sure to click on the thumbnails, because the details are totally lost at the small size), and toss in your vote for your five favorites! Voting will be open for a week. Update: for anyone who jumped right in... the access perms are fixed now. Thanks to DiscipleN2k for the quick heads-up. Sorry to waste your time! Update 2: Ah, crap. I was careless, and didn't notice that one sleazy person submitted a winning pumpkin from a previous year as his own entry. (Here's Michael Coffing's image from 2004, and here's the offending entry from this year.) I'm really sorry - especially to the people who wasted a vote on this pumpkin. The submitter has just put himself on a permanent contest ban for future HBO offerings. (Louis Wu 15:52:38 UTC) (permalink)
