No Double XP weekends for a bit
Your Halo playing has to take place this weekend without a double experience playlist (unless you want to count Ranked Big Team Battle) - and this is true for next weekend, too. Why? It has to do with the release of the September Matchmaking update, which is coming in late September, in time for Title Update 2, instead of at the START of the month, as usually happens. Fairfax gets some gaming in
He hasn't left the house yet, but Fairfax (Marissa's Bunny) has been getting his Halo 3 game on. First he tried on some helmets (he skipped the one that was OBVIOUSLY too big), then decided he'd just play some Halo 3. (Check out those slick A40s!) Choose the Path (and sausage pizza)
R3y's GameDay interviewed Matt Soell and Doug Zartman yesterday about Stubbs the Zombie, and its release on Xbox Live Arcade. There's some interesting discussion of open-ended gameplay in Stubbs, and how some of this was inspired by the game's Halo roots. Thanks to Matt himself for letting us know! Ensemble breakup - the fallout
Lots of Halo Wars discussion this morning - Avateur noticed a Kotaku article talking about the new structure of Ensemble (and how it's reminiscent of Bungie's situation), Narcogen did his own analysis of the situation over at Rampancy.net, and SteelersX07 pointed out that the Halo Wars site has some reassurances from Dave Pottinger, Halo Wars Lead Designer. Wow, very cool. So back in July, GamePro put up a huge Halo Wars spread, and offered a Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox as the grand prize in a promotional sweepstakes. Looks like an HBO reader, Michael Callicutt, won that contest! If you've ever seen those offers and thought "wow, I wonder if anybody ever wins those?" - now you know. Thanks, Michael.
