Papercraft Rocks
Vrogy.net has a short YouTube vid of a pepakura Halo 3 marine helmet, in progress. Looks pretty cool! (Louis Wu 14:03:25 UTC) (permalink)
The Man-Maker
Eep, almost forgot - Sain7 noticed that yesterday's Penny Arcade pays homage to the Cardboard Weapons Halo Kid (dunno what to call him, we first mentioned him on Bungie Day). Good stuff! (Louis Wu 10:13:10 UTC) (permalink)
Halo Canon Contest Results
UNSC Trooper announced the winner of the Halo Canon Contest (we pointed it out a few weeks ago) - go read! And congrats to all who entered. (Louis Wu 10:06:28 UTC) (permalink)
McFarlane Halo Points Explained
Ever since McFarlane began releasing action figures, folks have noticed 'Halo Points' on the packaging material - but nobody knew what they were for. The information has finally been released on the Spawn.com website - and it actually looks pretty cool! You can upgrade your action figures - with a Hayabusa katana, with Recon armor (!!), and you can get exclusive schwag like a lithograph or a Gold Master Chief by redeeming your points. Redemption starts this winter, and you'll need at least 100 points for the smallest reward (that's 10 action figures, for the most part). Thanks, DHalo. (Louis Wu 09:57:30 UTC) (permalink)
Halo Wars UNSC Database Augmented
DHalo noticed that the UNSC database at the Halo Wars site has been updated with information about the Vehicle Depot (and the Scorpion Tank). Go check it out! (Louis Wu 09:53:07 UTC) (permalink)
Halo MMOFPS? The Truth is Out There.
The guys at Rock, Paper, Shotgun have put together what they consider to be clues pointing to a massively multiplayer online first person shooter based in the Halo universe being developed by Microsoft. I'd have to say "tenuous at best" - but it was enough for a writeup in Kotaku. Thanks, Eddy 071. (Louis Wu 09:52:43 UTC) (permalink)
Bungie's unseen content - a teaser trailer?
Sun-Tzu noticed a post at GameRush Entertainment that suggests that was Bungie was planning to show at E3 was "a sixty second "knock'em down" teaser trailer" - with more reveals later in the week on their own site. No attribution is supplied for this information. Your guess is as good as mine! (Louis Wu 09:52:12 UTC) (permalink)
The Flaming Ninja Challenge
pete_the_duck has issued the Flaming Ninja Challenge - an obstacle course built in Forge, designed to test your ninja skills (and provide you with some fun map-running). Check out the screenshots in his post, download the variant, read the rules... and get to practicing! (Louis Wu 09:51:48 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 keyboard-and-mouse control, via modchip RotaJota ran across an article in Engadget touting a 360 mod chip that lets you use a keyboard and mouse as input devices - you won't be able to play online, because of that chip, but you SHOULD be able to move a little more precisely than your controller-wielding compatriots in a LAN game. (Maybe.) Update: KanadaKid clarified that the XIM 2 is a chip that sits BETWEEN your keyboard/mouse and your Xbox 360 - it's not a mod of the 360 itself. And Zero pointed out the XCM XFPS, an adaptor that will let you plug nearly ANY controller (including a Keyboard/mouse combo) into your 360, with no modding needed. (The latest version even has a rapid-fire function; turn on the turbo keys and your guns will fire faster than you could pull the triggers yourself.) Again, these are both external to the 360 - both are useable on LIVE. Ah, well.

Livin' the Dream There's a very subdued Bungie Weekly Update posted tonight over at Bungie.net (or, as usual, in our Weekly Update Archive) - mostly, its an apology for you not seeing whatever it is you didn't see this week. And a nice poster. (And oh, yeah, confirmation that Bungie is currently working on not two, but THREE projects.) Go read! (Louis Wu 00:39:57 UTC) (permalink)
