HMV Hell 2
imSuck has finished up HMV Hell 2, a sequel to his well-received tribute to the genre of music video mashups. Lots of clips, lots of funny moments, lots of nice camerawork. almost 12 minutes long, weighing in at about 130 mb, depending on flavor. You can download it from HaloGrid, or read about it first. This was filmed in Halo 2.

Halo devs talk to Gamasutra
Gamasutra interviewed Jonty Barnes and Jay Weinland back at the Tokyo Game Show - tidbits about the possibility of marketing the Halo 3 engine (pretty slim, except maybe for the Peter Jackson project), dialogue stuff, and Halo 3's rating. Overall, a very nice read! Thanks, Anton P. Nym. (Louis Wu 18:41:53 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 Official Soundtrack Info
It's been known for a while that the Halo 3 Official Soundtrack will be out in the second half of November, and will be a 2-disc set (Amazon has November 20 listed) - but Xbox.com now has an official page of info. Release date is listed as 'before Thanksgiving' (which falls on November 22 this year), and the post contains info about the Ibanez guitar giveaway (we mentioned it a couple of weeks ago), as well. There are no samples yet on the Sumthing Distribution website - but it's likely there will be, at some point. (Louis Wu 17:32:27 UTC) (permalink)
Topps Halo Sketch Card on eBay
Remember those Topps sketch cards we mentioned yesterday? You can buy one on eBay - Kevin's listed his Legendary Badge. Winner gets the pictured card, plus a bunch of others (read the description for details). Opening bid's $150, you've got about a week. (Louis Wu 16:41:22 UTC) (permalink)
Keep rationalizing, Greg.
Heh - I'm pretty sure he's got the steps wrong (see the last paragraph), but Daniel Tovrov has certainly faced his Halo addiction head-on. Thanks, Anton P. Nym. (Louis Wu 15:06:07 UTC) (permalink)
A Bug In The Game? Stuntmutt looks at one of our larger Halo 3 foes in today's One One Se7en. (Louis Wu 14:45:09 UTC) (permalink)
Just Say: Yes, Sir! Elnea posted Halo Action Figure Theater 95 last night... You gotta love how that purple guy just knows how to take control. Booyah. (Louis Wu 14:14:11 UTC) (permalink)
Gravemind's doing that backwards thing again.
A few days ago, bigmantis pointed out some music that seemed to contain reversed audio in it - today, Owm posted that audio, reversed, so you can listen for yourself. We're clearly not hearing it entirely yet; the words we've come up with make almost no sense so far. Listen for yourself (I filtered a version which works if you've got headphones), see what you can come up with! (Louis Wu 13:37:30 UTC) (permalink)
The very model, he is. Gundulf started off this forum post by explaining that "no one's done the mandatory Gilbert & Sullivan parody for Halo yet." No, indeed, nobody has. Until now. Oh, how I wish someone would record this!

Halo 3 Mission-a-Day: Done
Jake Seaton wraps up his 9-day journey through Halo 3's Campaign with a writeup of the final mission. Overall, he was pretty impressed. (Louis Wu 12:07:01 UTC) (permalink)
We're taking out an ad in the NYT next week.
Wow, bizarreness. I'm posting this for the novelty of it - I saw a press release for Halopedia come across eMediaWire this morning. Yes, there's a lot of content there... but a PRESS RELEASE? They're a fansite. With little to no advertising. I'm confused.

Last One Standing - Limited Access
Ouch - Marcelo Vega let us know that because the third Blomkamp short was put up on Xbox Live Marketplace, instead of in Game Videos, it's not available to gamers in many parts of the world. (He's from Brazil, and Brazil is one of those parts.) It's unclear WHY the short was filed as it was, this time around... but as long as it stays there, not all Halo 3 fans are being treated equally. Do you think Microsoft should rectify this? (Louis Wu 12:00:52 UTC) (permalink)
Halo in Church - Again
At The Christian Chronicle, there is another article looking at the 'Halo in church' issue - some interesting points. This one is starting to be beaten into the ground, but there are still some voices to be heard. (Louis Wu 11:54:01 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 Clip Contest Over at Invalid Mob Gaming, they're offering a 1-month Xbox Live Gold subscription code for the best Halo 3 File Share clip. Submit your gamertag, your file share item slot, and your email, and you might just be able to extend your Gold membership by a month! Thanks, Mukelo. (Louis Wu 11:51:23 UTC) (permalink)
I'll give you 3 Mowdowns for a...
Hawty McBloggy takes a look at the issue of achievement trading in the Lone Wolves playlist. We've had a number of discussions on this topic on our forum - she covers most of the common reactions. Give it a read! (Louis Wu 11:49:23 UTC) (permalink)
