IST comes down to Str8 Rippin vs XiT Woundz Str8 Rippin went down to XiT Woundz in a three-game matchup at the Intel Summer Championships - GotFrag's got the play-by-play. Update: Oops, looks like I missed a day. GotFrag's info was only through the Upper Bracket Finals, the first matchup of these two teams; they met twice more, with Str8 Rippin taking both series, to win the overall title (and the $5000 first-place purse). A full writeup is available at Amped - thanks to ZoneManWilf for straightening me out. (Louis Wu 16:50:34 UTC) (permalink)

We all KNOW the real winner. I'm very, very happy this morning. Why? Because over at Gamefaqs, they're running a 'Best.Series.Ever' contest, with two series pairing off each day, and being voted on by their members - and yesterday, Halo lost its first-round battle, with Castlevania. I was really hoping it would lose (which is why this news post is going up the day AFTER the face-off, and not the day OF) - because it means that there will be no more rounds in the next few weeks, so I don't have to receive hundreds of emails from fans who want us to promote the fight and get people to vote for Halo. Folks - these are silly. Don't buy into 'em. (Louis Wu 16:22:44 UTC) (permalink)
