The Squadron, Episode 15 released Broken Console has released episode 15 of the Squadron - 'My Bum Hurts'; the human soldiers once again prove themselves insanely stupid, but decent shots. You can grab it in WMP9 format from the BC website (link above) or in QuickTime from us. Your mom's a sheep. (Louis Wu 23:34:36 UTC) (permalink)
Machinima - the local angle There's a sizeable article (5000 words) on the Codex crew (The Codex is a pretty well-known, and well-done, Halo machinima project) - a nice read. A bit disappointing that they've all moved on from Halo, though... (Louis Wu 23:29:39 UTC) (permalink)
New Team3D Content A couple of new articles over at Team3D.net - there's an interview with OGRE1 (this should have been posted a couple of days ago - my bad) and some great strategy tips for CTF Beaver Creek from OGRE 2. Check 'em out - learn from the pros! Thanks, F13ND. (Louis Wu 18:41:26 UTC) (permalink)
infinityloop's Pillar of Autumn Model On Monday, MattKnight01 pointed out a thread on the Lightwave Group forum - it detailed the creation of a Pillar of Autumn model in Lightwave, and culminated (after more than a year) in the release of the model mesh. It's a pretty amazing piece of work - and it comes with lots of information about how it was made, including tutorials for some of the techniques used. Any Halo fan with Lightwave should grab this thing. But the model itself is really cool, even if you don't have the tools to manipulate it - so we asked infinityloop (the creator) if we could consolidate the pictures (spread out over 13 pages of forum posts) and offer a mirror of the model mesh... he said sure. Swing by the page and follow along the model development... or just jump to the last page of images and check out the finished product! (Louis Wu 15:11:03 UTC) (permalink)
Those Muckles Keep Showing Up Cassius points out yet another Halo 2 Muckle statue (the resin sculpture that's been popping up recently) on eBay - 4 days to go! (Louis Wu 14:50:47 UTC) (permalink)
Parono Amaze Ya. Today's One One Se7en is one of the most highbrow puntaculars I've ever seen. (It's so highbrow, it needed to be explained to me.) If you get it by yourself, pat yourself on the back. Then smack yourself. (Louis Wu 14:42:20 UTC) (permalink)
Videogames-to-Flix #7 - Halo JoBlo.com has posted a review of Halo, as part of a series of 'Videogames-to-Flix' - it's interesting simply because I can't remember seeing a Halo (original) review in several years. (They gave it a 9.6/10.) There's also some speculation about the film itself. Check it out! (Louis Wu 13:56:28 UTC) (permalink)
New Toy Preview at Joyride Boxer points out that Joyride Studios has posted a preview of their Series 8 Action figures - There's the Jackal, the Elite Commander, the Heretic Elite Leader, and a cute little pair involving the Master Chief. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 13:48:55 UTC) (permalink)
The Society of Gaming DSmooth points out an article at 2old2play, defining 7 gamer types. The author, trupundit, classifies himself as a Devoted Gamer, with Halo 2 being his One Game. (If you're curious about the capitals, read the story.) (Louis Wu 13:45:43 UTC) (permalink)
MLG Noob Guide, Part II The second part of Dyslexia's Newcomers Guide to Halo 2 is up over at MLG - this one looks at tactics and strategies commonly used in 4v4 and FFA games. (We mentioned part 1 last week.) It's a really nice collection of information - worth reading even if you know this stuff. Thanks, 3Suns. (Louis Wu 13:35:39 UTC) (permalink)
Halo-like Music thatboyjay writes to point out a number of instrumental tracks he's created that have a Halo 'feel' to them - check 'em out! If you like what you hear, tbj can be contacted here. (Louis Wu 13:19:34 UTC) (permalink)
