A Pillar of Bricks
asa stopped by with a link to a video released this summer, after Brickworld 2014 - Lee Jones created a 100+ kg replica of the Pillar of Autumn, complete with realized engines! He declined to mention the total cost of the included LEGOs, but he said it would have paid for a trip to Hawaii for his wife, so... The work involved is astounding, you should go look.
