Most people fear death, and its easy to understand why. Some people fear the unknown, whether there's life after death. Others fear the pain that comes before death. Some fear the thought of losing their loved ones, and some fear the thought of judgement.

But all of those people were never on Purgatory. When your on Purgatory, you yearn for death. You wish for its sweet release every night. You want the grim reaper to be your best friend. Here you have no reason to fear the pain of death, you feel more pain and suffering every day than any dying person. There's also no loved ones to lose, having already lost them. Judgement, heck, every person here has already been judged, and found lacking. And as for fear of the uknown, ask any person here, ifyou dare, and they will all tell you that they don't care. Then they'll tell you to go fuck yourself.

So your sitting there thinking, "What sort of a place is this Purgatory." Well, I'll tell you. Purgatory is a prison. Yeah, you heard me. A prison. Mow your probly thinking, "A prison! Come on. It can't be that bad. Right?" Wrong. Purgatory is a prison, and it is that bad. But this isn't an ordinary prison. You see Purgatory is a space station. A big one, on the ass end of human space. It's big enough to hold and keep the worst crimanls imaginable away from society. There's murders, repeists, serial killers, child molesters, pcychopaths, the crimanlly insane, you name it, its here.

So your thinking, "Why haven't these people been executed. Isn't that what they usually do with these kinds of sickos." Well your right, everyone here has been executed.

Now before you go saying that contridicts every thing that I've said already, let me explain. You see, Purgatory is more than just a state of the art space prison. It's also the most advanced biogenetics lab there is. The prison is mainly just a front to the outside worlds. They do all sorts of genetic testing here. Recombining DNA, enhancing exsisting genes, surgical bioenhancement, and all kinds of stuff you don't want to now about.

Now think to yourself for a second, what sane man would want to volunteer for such horrers. Well, the answers simple, no man would. So that's why they use prisoners. When a prisoner, in a normal prison on Earth or one of the many colony worlds, is schuduled for execution, scientists do a test on their DNA to see if their a sutable canadate for the program. If they arn't, they let them execute them. If they are, they do an elaborate cover up on the execution. They tell to the press that the prisoner was succesfully terminated, but in reality, they put them in a transport ship and ship them off here, to never be seen again.

I should also tell you that the people who run this operation are none other than ONI. Yeah those guys. When the war with the Covenant started it was clear that humanity was in danger. Human soldiers could fight with every thing they had, and still lose. So several programs were started to enhance human soldiers. You already know about the SPARTEN One and Two programs. You also know that Spartens have to be taken from birth and trained for years. Then there's the surgery to augment them with cybernetic components. Most don't live from it, and most of the ones that survive are crippled so badly that their rendered combat inafective. So they decided to try and come up with a quicker solution. They would try to enhance exsisting soldiers. They would try to come up with a super soldier creating syrum.

So after the folks over at ONI had the briliant idea of playing God, They buily Purgatory as the research station. They knew that people would be outraged if they found out that their tax dollers were going to turn prisoners into genetic nightmares. Also the human rights organizations would go nuts at the idea. So they built the prison as a cover and started work.

Tou might be wondering how these ONI guys could do something so horible, even if it was to the dregs of society. Well, their reasons go back to that death thing again. Their afraid of dying, and the tought of death can make a man act funny. It can make him do horrible things to save himself. They say it's to save humanity, well what ever gets them to sleep at night I say.

As to the experiments themselves, they've mostly been complete failures. Most of the inmates dye during the first round of testing. I guess you could cosider them the lucky ones, because after that it just gets worse. Most of the inmates end up hoibly deformed. Others go mad, and some get deformed and go mad.

By now your probly wondering, who the hell am I. Well that's simple, I'm an inmate here at Purgatory. I'll also tell you that I'm inocent of my crimes. You see I used to work for ONI. I was a field agent. I eventually found out about this place. I couldn't believe what they were doing. I decided that I would blow the lid off this conspiracy, but the other ONI agents found out about my betrayl, and acted fast to stop me. They killed my wife and planted evidence to make people think it was me. I was arested and charged with first degree murder. Before I went to trial I was visited by an ONI agent who told me that it was in my sons best interests that I plead guilty. He reminded me just how many children go missing and are never found every year. I pleaded guilty and was sentanced to death. After three years on death row I was visited by th same ONI agent, said his name was Jerry, he told me that he had pulled some strings and was going to keep me from being executed. So they sent me here. Ironic that I was sent to the very place that I was trying to expose.

You might be wondering what's been done to me since I arived here a year ago. Well I'm not dead, thats for sure, and I'm not crazy either. As for deformed, the only doticable deformity is my eyes. Their completly blood red. No iris, no cornea, no whit around the edges. Yeah it's pretty unsettling I'm sure, but hey, I can see better in the dark than you. I could also beat you at arm restling since I'm three times stronger than when I came in. I guess you could say that I'm one of their few success stories.

Just recently though, things got weirder on Purgatory. Two weeks ago a container made of high grade titanium arrived. It was brought by at least twenty nervous looking marines. The scientists were practiclly puking in excitement. Over the next few day I heard guards say things like, "Damn those thing freak me out," or, "They sure were ugly little basterds wern't they."

Well that was two weeks ago, and I haven't given it much thought about it untill now. I was just woken up inside my cell to the sounds of gunfire. Then screaming, then more gunfire. I have no idea of what's going on, but I have a felling that I will find out.

My name's Lee H. Oswald. This is my story, if you care to listen.

This is just the first of a very, very long series. I put alot of work into it and I hope you enjoy it. Tell me what you think afterwards, because I can only make it better if you tell me what you like and don't like. The next one will have a sick amount of action in it. So much that you won't believe it tell you see it. It might be a while tell the next one though, I', working on to different series at once. Later. I'm out.
