Wait, what?
So we sort of skipped the whole 'potential insider shows up on NeoGAF and leaks Microsoft's next year's worth of announcements' thing a few days ago, mostly because it was more trouble than it was worth to figure out if anything was actually confirmable... but it's pretty funny that a Spanish video game seller actually put up a page for one of the leaked items. Halo 2 Anniversary, which has not been announced by anyone officially, can now be preordered from XtraLife. (The artwork they chose for the cover is fan-created, and includes a gun which didn't even appear in Halo 2.) Thanks, GameRevolution (who snagged a screenshot, in case XtraLife's page disappears). Wow - talk about proactive! (Louis Wu 20:04:33 UTC)

Hey, it's still this week, right?
We totally forgot to mention Wednesday's Halo Bulletin yesterday - sorry! It's absolutely worth reading; in addition to the information about upcoming changes in Matchmaking playlists, and beautiful screenshots with a nature theme, there's an announcement about a job opening for a Franchise Writer - a job many fans might love to have. More - a job many fans might be qualified for! Go give the whole thing a read. (It is, of course, in our local archive, as well.) Thanks to MacGyver10 for keeping up when we forgot. Why I Game
This isn't really Halo-related, but it's video-game related, and the submitter shows up around here quite a bit. Gina 'Dogiojoe' Johnson has just kicked off a Kickstarter campaign for a book she's written called 'Why I Game' - it's a response to the 'video games are responsible for violence' reaction after many gun-related tragedies in this country. There are Halo-specific perks, in honor of her favorite hero, Master Chief. Check it out! (Louis Wu 22:03:45 UTC)

World's Most Dedicated Halo Dad
Justin Barr posted his nearly 60 year old (Wu still not dethroned) farther Guy's entire Halo service record, which adds up to 17,000 online games played across various Halo titles. After garnering quite of bit of attention, Bravo from 343 reached out to Justin to thank his Dad for his dedication, and to surprise Guy with a one-of-a-kind gift. As a fan of Ragnarok, Guy received a poster that includes concept art and screenshots of early map builds straight from map creator Vic Deleon himself, all presented in a frame signed by the team. As pointed out by Bravo, one of the sceenshots shows off an early build of Ragnarok that still has the Halo 3 bases - neat! If that wasn't cool enough, 343 also sent him four years worth of XBL Gold to help Guy continue his Halo passion. Thanks, CyReN. (colindosaj 02:09:52 UTC)

Of Recaps and Predictions
Last night, as on most Wednesday nights, Waypoint released the week's Halo Bulletin - it has a nice recap of the events of 343 Day (this past Monday), along with plenty of other tidbits. There is info (both short and long-term) about matchmaking playlists, there is info about the upcoming Red Bull 5G tournament, there is an interview with a community cartographer about his most recent map, and there is a screenshot spotlight on the color yellow. As always, you can read it on Halo Waypoint, or you can read it in our Halo Bulletin Archive. (Louis Wu 16:31:33 UTC)

Time for some thrilling heroics.
Yesterday, a rag-tag bunch of HBO regulars joined together to take on the Alliance - erm, 343 Industries - in a match of Snap Shot (snipers only, and no-scopes are the only way to score) on Haven. They emerged victorious. You can watch the archived 343 livestream to see the game from L Askan's perspective (start at 2:23:00 for our match), or you can watch it through the eyes (and guns) of NartFOpc, who led our team to a 500-360 win. This week's Halo Bulletin (both at Halo Waypoint, and in our Halo Bulletin Archive) covers the upcoming playlist changes in both Grifball and Dominion, as well as showing off some community Forge Ricochet maps. There's also some info about a new program - the Team Slayer Top 200. This will highlight the top 200 players in the Team Slayer playlist (by CSR) each week - can you make the cut? Finally, there are some really nice Harvest screenshots. Go read! (Louis Wu 20:21:07 UTC)

Weekly Halo Bulletin - Late
Weekly Halo Bulletin - Late Somehow, I found the time Wednesday night to localize the newest Halo Bulletin, and to mention this fact on our forum - but I couldn't find the time to post it here on the front page. DOH! If you missed it, go give it a read - either on Halo Waypoint or in our Halo Bulletin Archive. It's full of birthday celebrations for Halo 4 and fun 343 Halloween costumes. With some kickass ODST screenshots, to boot. (Louis Wu 15:37:58 UTC)

Halo 4 Mythic Difficulty Guide - Epilogue
The Tyrant has wrapped up his Halo 4 Mythic Guide with an epilogue that includes a video that's more than 6 hours long! It contains a runthrough of the entire game, start to finish (minus the blind skull) - and incorporates all cutscenes, terminals, and the ten existing episodes of Spartan Ops. It's a full cinematic experience of Halo 4 - and it even has an intro from a number of community supporters! Go watch. It's fantastic. (Louis Wu 19:21:00 UTC)
