How it feel to get butt kicked?
Eleven new dialogue snippets got posted by Captain Spark today; you can grab the zipfile from his website, or you can browse them in our Dialogue Databank. Good stuff! (Louis Wu 14:49:07 UTC)

Nasty, Nasty Brutes
Continuing with the monstrous dialogue updates, we've got almost 100 Brute snippets from Hellhawk added today to our Dialogue Databank; go listen to these creatures! (Louis Wu 15:50:41 UTC)

I need a little music!
As I've said before, there are a really large number of dialogue snippets in the queue right now. I've managed to process almost 50, from Hellhawk, today; you can find them listed in the Dialogue Databank. There are still almost 400 in the queue, from four different submitters; even if some turn out to be duplicates, there is a LOT coming. Enjoy this batch for now, though! (Louis Wu 17:40:50 UTC)

Put on your glasses, start sewing!
Captain Spark dropped off another 19 dialogue snippets - you can grab 'em in bulk from his site, or browse 'em in our Dialogue Databank. There's one that's unintelligble to me - and Spark didn't even try it, so he clearly couldn't hear it either. (If you can tell what the brute is saying, let us know.) And yes - there are still a TON of snippets from other submitters in the queue; once again, Spark's stuff jumps to the front of the queue solely because processing takes me a couple of minutes, instead of a couple of hours. I'm really sorry. Update: Marty clarified the full quote for us - it looks like the sample we've got is missing the first couple of words. Pretty funny quote, though! (Louis Wu 17:13:50 UTC)

Hold on to something, brothers.
Captain Spark continues his dialogue snippet collection - 22 more tidbits either on his site, or browsable, in our Dialogue Databank. (Louis Wu 18:42:11 UTC)

Track it down!
A bunch of new dialogue snippets from Captain Spark got posted today - you can grab them off his site, or browse them in the Dialogue Databank. And yes, there are still a bunch of submitted clips in the queue; I'm really sorry about that. Today, if all goes well... (Louis Wu 16:36:49 UTC)

Your will - my action.
Captain Spark released another batch of dialogue snippets - you can grab 'em on his site, or in the Dialogue Databank. (Yes, I know there are others still waiting in the queue - but CS submits so many, I automated the addition of his files; adding ones that are not formatted the same way takes more work (and therefore gets backburnered) - unfair, yes, but there it is.) Go listen. (Louis Wu 17:48:02 UTC)

Can't all just get along?
Captain Spark released another batch of dialogue snippets (and celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary, and is gearing up for his birthday - w00t!) - you can grab 'em from his website, or browse 'em in the Dialogue Databank. And there are more snippets coming from Hellhawk and Bloodpuppy, soon - I just haven't gotten 'em processed yet! (Louis Wu 16:47:53 UTC)

Lament for Pvt. Jenkins
BootStrap Boon put together a vid called 'Lament for Pvt. Jenkins' recently, and the MPRRS said 'yeah!' It's an alternate look at what might have happened to the poor dead Private from Halo, and aside from some odd aspect issues, and the occasional interlacing, it's quite well done. He does a really nice job of integrating Dialogue Databank snippets into his footage, so all dialogue is done by the original Halo marines. It's rather large; both long (11:40) and big (856x480), so it weighs in at 115 mb, in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats. Give it a whirl! (Louis Wu 21:09:57 UTC)

Shh... me hunting hewetics!
Another large batch of Dialogue snippets from Hellhawk have been added to the Halo 2 Dialogue Databank; this time, it's 155 snippets, all Grunts and Elites. Only Brutes are left - probably tomorrow! (Louis Wu 20:07:14 UTC)

The Mysterious Beastie
rockslider's been busy; if you visit his Bad Cyborg site, you'll find a new Frontline With Suzie (in which she interviews the mysterious beastie you can hear from a particular cave), and a more complete description of the beastie's location. (This guy was first documented by oldmano'theC almost 4 years ago... how time flies!) Captain Spark did a pretty amazing job of capturing the sound with no ambient noise blocking your hearing; you can grab it from his site, or from our Dialogue Databank (actually, the sound is there, but it's not yet registered in the databank). (Louis Wu 03:25:42 UTC)

Why Is It Always the Cute Ones?
In other dialogue news, Captain Spark lets us know that he's recorded another 18 snippets, plus a bizarre sound from back in the T & R. Check 'em out! (Side note: Wu, you're supposed to be on vacation, so vacate!) Update: Yeah, yeah... I AM vacating. Here are CS's submissions in our Dialogue Databank. I like the grunt ones. -lwu (mnemesis 17:11:02 UTC)

They're The Bomb!
Just testing out my net connection from here in paradise - seems okay. Looks like Eisen Feuer posted a new batch of multiplayer dialogue snippets on our forum; I've added them to the Dialogue Databank. (I discovered that SOME parts of my net connection aren't that great; I can't connect to the HBO servers at all from here, by anything other than the web. Security is good - except when it gets in your way.) Enjoy - and I'm out again! (Louis Wu 15:28:57 UTC)

Cakehole - shut it!
Captain Spark turned in another 19 dialogue snippets - you can snag them from his website, or peruse them in our Dialogue Databank. He's baaaack... (Louis Wu 20:32:34 UTC)

Take your hula-hoop thing!
Captain Spark let us know that he'd collected another 9 dialogue snippets from Halo 2 - Johnson's in fine form. You can grab them at his website (check out the hudless Halo 1 megabattle shots while you're there), or browse them in our Dialogue Databank. (Louis Wu 16:07:37 UTC)

Forgotten Heroes.
Captain Spark has come out of self-imposed dialogue recording retirement to serve up another 11 snippets to the Halo community. These are pretty darn funny. You can grab them from his website, or browse them in our Dialogue Databank. (Louis Wu 15:30:18 UTC)

The end of a good thing.
Captain Spark says he's done collecting Halo 2 dialogue - he's released another 14 snippets that you can grab from his website, or from our Dialogue Databank, but at this point, he's decided that the returns no longer justify the work. We're gonna miss the submissions - go see what he brought you this time! (Louis Wu 19:10:35 UTC)

Odd Choice of Security
There's a slightly unusual piece of dialogue from Cortana on Halo's Truth & Reconciliation level; it comes at the end of the hangar bay (after the pair of Hunters). It has to be really quiet to hear it; it is in our transcript of the level, but jman571 just sent us an audio recording of the line, so for anyone ELSE who's missed it, it's now immortalized in our Dialogue Databank. Enjoy! (For those wondering about my title for this news post... it's always struck me as odd that the Covenant would put such a ridiculously large encryption key on a random door... but leave their battlenet unsecured.) The Sword is Down!
Captain Spark turned in another batch of dialogue snippets for the Dialogue Databank - I'm LOVIN' that female marine clip. You can use the above link to browse the submissions, or grab the whole batch from his website. (Louis Wu 05:50:15 UTC)

Somebody get a mop and a bucket.
Captain Spark released another 22 dialogue snippets today - you can grab them from his website, or you can browse them in the Dialogue Databank. Some pretty funny ones in this batch! (Louis Wu 16:23:21 UTC)

You shake a mean lip, Marine.
Captain Spark uploaded a couple of batches of dialogue snippets today. (One is huge.) You can find them both on his website, in zip files... or you can browse through them in our Dialogue Databank; there was a batch dated September 10 and another one dated September 15. Check 'em out! Oddball
Bootstrap Boon is an HBO Helljumper who put together a long (21:39 long) story called 'Oddball' - it uses footage from a couple of multiplayer maps coupled with dialogue from the Dialogue Databank, all wrapped up with nice background music, to tell the story of a Spartan/Covenant conflict. It passed the MPRRS recently, so you can grab copies from our server. Warning: the original WMP9s are a bit off, aspect-wise. I asked BootStrap's brother about fixing this, and got no response - so you'll have to live with the problem. Also, the low-res WMP9 has screwed-up audio at the start - again, this is unfixable by me. The QuickTime versions (both low and medium res) do not have either of these problems. Grab the one that makes the most sense to you (please be gentle, these are huge, and we don't want to be poor next month):

Pretty ambitious work! (Louis Wu 07:56:33 UTC)

Green Metal Underoos
Captain Spark posted another 25 dialogue snippets on our forum today - all are from Marines, and some are PG-rated. Some hilarious stuff in there! You can grab the batch in one chunk on his website (if it's up), or you can browse the entries in our Dialogue Databank. (Louis Wu 16:44:12 UTC)

Look - I messed in my pants!
Captain Spark posted another 30 dialogue snippets - all Johnson and Stacker. (He's worried, though - he might be getting to the end of the line.) You can grab them from his website, zipped, or browse them in our Dialogue Databank. (Louis Wu 00:09:47 UTC)

Killikatari, baby.
A couple of days ago, Eisen Feuer posted a bunch of dialogue snippets to our forum - high-quality recordings of the various multiple-kill announcements in multiplayer. We've finally added them to our Dialogue Databank - one that doesn't show up in that link is 'Un-Freakin-Believable' which was in the databank before, but in a much lower-quality recording. These are good enough for use in machinima projects, I'd say... (Louis Wu 12:23:49 UTC)
