New Blood
Halo Waypoint has news of a new Halo fiction release - Matt Forbeck has written 'Halo: New Blood', coming in early March. This book will tell the story of Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck (the star of Halo 3: ODST and a bit player in Halo: Reach). We need more guns. 3D printed guns.
Intriguing - this article discusses a Halo 4 tournament that took place earlier this month in St. Louis... and one of the focuses is 3D Printing. Odd? No. The founder of UCG, the host of the tournament, printed out a bunch of Halo weapons to help celebrate the event... and to "bridge the exposure of 3D printing game props to competitive video gaming." H2A Cutscenes... In-Engine (sort of)
Intriguing. We know that Halo 2 Anniversary was released with Blur-created CGI cutscenes... but apparently the original (in-engine style) scenes were being worked on at some point... and some NeoGAFfers found a way to see them. Halo 2 Anniversary Terminals - now in the Cutscene Library
The Halo Cutscene Library has grown again today - we're making the Halo 2 Anniversary Terminals available for viewing and downloading. Once again, they're available in 1080p, 720p, and 360p, but audio is stereo-only (this is because they were recorded from the Halo Channel, on the Xbox One, and that channel doesn't broadcast in 5.1 sound). The Master Chief Collection joins the Cutscene Library
Cody Miller jumped on the heavy-duty job of filming the cutscenes/terminals from The Master Chief Collection pretty early on... but life's been so busy here that we're JUST NOW beginning to get some of that content out there. First up - the CGI cutscenes Blur created for Halo 2 Anniversary. These are pretty amazing, and we're making them available in 360p, 720p, and 1080p, with full surround sound. Go grab 'em! Coop Halo 2 Speedrun for AGDQ
Awesome Games Done Quick is in the middle of their winter fundraiser - money goes towards the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and you get to watch lots of cool speedrunning. Exploring the codebase
gamerguy2002 has been keeping track of Lord Zedd's modding progress - he let us know about some unused Halo 4 death messages (these are pretty funny), a pretty disturbing video showing what characters look like without faces, and a two-for-one showing off some unused assets that were left in the game. Fun stuff!
