Halo 4 Mythic Difficulty Guide - MISSION X: Epilogue

The Tru7h about "Mythilogue"

Three years ago when I concluded the Halo Reach Mythic Walkthrough with a video entitled "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", my goal was to do something special for the community—something that none of my viewers had seen before and would remember for years to come. Today, I aim to accomplish the same goal.

As we wrap up the first full Halo game brought to us by 343 Industries, I'd like to take moment to thank each and every person on that staff. Even as much as I love Bungie, and I don't believe Halo 4 to be perfect by any means (same as every other Halo game), they have carried the torch well and have honored the Halo franchise. Halo truly is in trusting hands.

Having said that, there are still a few kinks that need to be ironed out. That's why today I bring you the "Mythic Refinement Project". The goal is simple and straight forward... to either eliminate the Blind Skull entirely or to at least alter it so you can see your arms and weapons. Failing to do this kills the game's immersion and only further deters folks from playing Halo on its most brutal and challenging setting. Bungie even recognized this, removing Blind as a requirement in their Weekly Challenges as a result. 343 Industries has worked tirelessly on making the Halo franchise more immersive. So let's go full circle and take out the one remaining factor that keeps it from doing so. Sure, skulls are optional, but Mythic and LASO are set in stone... Legendary All Skulls On.

To further prove my point, today I bring you the Halo 4 campaign in its entirety on Mythic minus Blind. Not only does this serve as a semi-Mythic 2.0 guide, but it will give both you AND 343 Industries a much better idea of what Mythic is truly like and hopefully gain a new appreciation for it. I've gone out of my way here to use all weapons, vehicles, and armor abilities to display both their strengths and weaknesses on such a difficulty setting. On top of that, I've included all cutscenes, terminals, and Spartan Ops episodes 1-10 to give you all the ultimate Halo 4 campaign experience.

Why am I doing this? Because I'm in love with the game. I'm in love with its story, its gameplay, its replayability, and more importantly, its full potential. 343, if you're listening, I hope that you'll not only consider removing Blind, but that you'll also take steps to make a difficulty of this magnitude more mainstream. There are those of us who wait YEARS solely to play the new campaign, and this gives us more reason to play it longer.

I'd like to take a moment to thank all of the incredible folks who support the project and assisted and helping me put this together; Greenskull from Ready Up Live, Nak3d Eli from Nak3d Halo, RC Master from RCVGS, Brittany Martz from the web series "Malice", Jessi from Women of Xbox, Claude Errera my online father AND the founder of this very website, and of course 343 Industries for making this all possible. I love you all, and Godspeed on your amazing journey through the Halo universe.

Best Regards,
Victor Morris (aka The Tyrant)
