This is really interesting. I like how you explain our(more or less)history in such good detail.

Yes, I started a story about the Covenant a while ago, but I acouldn't think of anything original to go along with the story line so i started this instead where it used only the basic outline of the UNSC organization and history to get it going.

I was interested to see where this story was going to go, and it's both thumbs up, I think. The fact that this story involves no Covenant at all, gives it a really fresh feeling. It's good because we're so used to humanity being united against the Covs that to see them preparing back-up plans where they execute a political leader and broadcast it to break the enemies' moral is really rather shocking, which is an authentic part of the ugly nature of war.
And it's well written.
