Darn, I've already submitted my next chapter, who knows how I spelled Forerunner. Anyway, habits are hard to break, had Forerunner lower case in the below comment once.

Thanks PanZer. I will start to captilize Forerunner. I've been keeping it lowercase because I had it lowercase before, just to be consistant. I guess if people don't mind too much I will start capitalizing all the races names and the planet Earth. These are examples of mistakes from my first stories that I've been kind of stuck with. I've fixed some of these mistakes and made other edits in my updated versions of the stories, but these haven't been resubmitted to HBO.

As for activating the Halos, well I have the Halo weapon kind of like the equivalent of a microwave oven (although it really isn't using microwaves). What it does is just fries everything but leaves the atmosphere intact. For instance all life on Earth would be killed but non-living things like water and atmosphere would still be around. So new life could develop on the planet in the future.

Anyway, a strong and advanced shielding system, like what the forerunners have will protect them from the effects of the Halo weapon.

Some forms of planetary shielding (only if we really had them) could also be protection. I'm thinking a lower tech version of a planetary shield would be to fill the upper atmosphere with something. However, the side affect would be that the sun would be blocked out, well that means nuclear winter. Your choice, a quick death by Halo or a slow one through a million year long nuclear winter.

Wow, I must say, I haven't had time to read the other 13 parts. I'll look into it this weekend. But it is very intriguing. The weapons were extremely creative, far more than anything I could ever think up. I bow down to your superior creativeness. :)Also, if you're open for a little constructive criticism, I would definitely capitalize Forerunner. Reasons being, they are a specific group/race. Like the Covenant.Would the Forerunner activating the Halos not kill themselves? I guess if you know you're going down, you wanna take people with you, but suicide seems like a last-ditch effort.
