These last two in the series were a bit disappointing to me. I can't really explain it, seemed like your writing went into auto-pilot or something. I mean let's say that the marines find a human prisioner, all slimy and stinky from not bathing for weeks, frail, sitting in his own feces. Then this prisioner gives the marines a bunch of implants to put in their bodies. Yeah, right on let's go for it -- Not! Now imagine that this isn't a human but an alien. What are these guys thinking when they put the implants in? Then again, they haven't bathed in a while either. Maybe their get hungry enough and start cooking up the implants for breakfast. Ah, I'm just giving you a bad time. Keep up the writing and please let us know what titles you are thinking about for this series other than Short Story.
