well I scanned this baby real fast with my eyes, and as you noted, it has no action. oh well, now that I have the picture in my mind, I'm ready for action, keep on writing.

Not too bad. I don't know about leaving marines out on front like that. Marines are better at attacking. I would have wanted to keep them under cover (e.g. underground) until the action started, then send them out on a counter-attack.
Keep up the writing. Looking forward to a big battle.
