Yeah, I don't think you could use HEV's when you're not even in orbit. But maybe I'm wrong.

Actually...the reason they parachuted out is cause there was no way they were gonna land in such a hellish situation. There were plasma bolts scorching the air all around em. It was either jump or die. Some jumped. Some died. One jumped then died. Thats life.

No, Helljumper, I believe that there are two ways...
I believe I've seen a wallpaper on bungie.net that shows Marines jumping out of a Pelican, parachutes opening up while doing so. Maybe that's an explanation.

I understand why you might wanna follow the book, but if i did, then it wouldnt really be my story would it? I just wanted to add a little twist. Ever read about an ODST parachuting in? Now you have. Thanks again for the input, and the compliment (FuManChu)

Did you read Halo: The Flood. ODST usually go int by Human Entry Vechiles, (HEV). YOu need to read the book if you want to right a good story about ODST. Parachuting isn't what they mean by Feet first. I thought so and I was told to read the book so i'm passing it on to u. This story was good, the details were good, but i started to get confused after they jumped from the Pelican. If you read it yourself you'll see what i mean.
