Hey, this is pretty good. Since it seems well thought out I will throw in a few ideas:

1) Yes watch out of vapor trails or anything that might tip the Covenant out of the sniper's locations (even radar might pick up the projectile's flight path). Might be useful to change positions after firing. Constantly keep on the move. With that cloaking they have, that makes things different than what we have today.

2) Good thing the Covenant are those fancy colors to signify what rank they hold. Sooner or later they are bound to catch on though. Maybe they color a lowly guy up like a leader. Drop them down and wait to see if a sniper shoots him. When a sniper does, they nuke the place (blow up like a 20 mile radius), killing everyone. Small price to pay, the loss of a few grunts and equipment, to destroy a one-in-a-million sniper that has already killed a few valuable leaders. Of course that "sniper sense" might come in and say something is not right and so the sniper just does not make the kill.

3) And then, don't frustrate the Covenant too much, they just might glass the planet. I don't know what, but there's got to be some reason the Covenant want to preserve earth. Why are they landing, is it like shore leave, "come to earth, the great amusement park and kill a few humans, fun for every Covenant all around."

Well that ought to do it. Keep up the good job.

hmmm...well I hope they blast the heads offa every single leader. Are there vapor trails on their sniper rifles? If there are vapor trails, that would give their position away.

Thank you. I will continue to write. It's funny that you say it reminded you of Navy Seals, because a lot of this is based off of Homer Johnston and Dieter Weber from Rainbow Six. I was reading it for the umpteenth time, and decided that a sniper story in the Halo universe would be kind of cool. Blindside

Uh this is an enjoyable story. IT reminds me of some of the stuff I liked out of Navy Seals (The book) and some other stuff I read. Yes keep writing.
