er... yeah, nice story.... you DID make the forerunner a little bit too powerful. Takes the struggle out of war. You guys also rushed the story a bit but I guess there isn't much to say otherwise.

Nice story. The back story is nice. I saw it in the Story section of this site. Nice interperatation of it... sorry, I can't spell... The story would REALLY become a classic if you could drag it out farther and add some emotional conflicts, struggles, revelations, etc. Something close to the Archon series by Wado. Sweet story as it stands.

9/10

I own the colonization one, but not too much happens in that one. Go read the four book World War series. Its pretty good. I've only read the first one (my library doesn't have the others, nor is it very good at ordering, plus I'm el-cheapo!) The first book is good, trust me. Go read it.

I read that book, Colonization: Aftershocks was the one I read. Yeah, the aliens were fascinated by atom bombs and feared the humans to an extent. They were also shocked If memory serves correctly that the humans could wage such a war against them. But I forgot, do all the nations of the world fight the aliens? Did they discontinue WWII? It seems to have slipped my mind, or maybe I didnt finish the book, but its sitting on my shelf right now.

A thought on Wiley's comment: You're part right and part wrong. Read Harry Turtledove's World War series (Summary of series: It's the middle of World War II and Earth is embroiled in war when aliens invade. The Alien's tactics totally SUCK, but their technology almost makes up for it... Read it you'll like it). Just thought I'd recommend the book....

Yeah, but that would lead to problems, which would ultimately destroy them, leaving behind nothing but ancient relics for others to find! (sound familiar!)

it dosen't really matter how advanced the technology is. What matters is the skill of its user. You could have the best technology in the universe, but if you are not skilled with it someone with inferior technology, but more skill, could crush you. Just my opinion.

yeah the great builders would be able to genetically engineer the perfect soldiers to defend them. they could specifically spawn soldiers with unbelievable combat instincts. they could develop a body to specifically fight in a cockpit. the forerunner could make their soldiers the absolute best at whatever they did

True, but if they were builders, then they would have exceeded the technology of both the covenant and humanity by millenia. They are powerful soldiers because they are technologically advanced.

9/10 Yes the Forerunner do seem like builders

Not too shabby. The Forerunners were too tough in my opinion, though. 8.5/10! I believe the Forerunner were more of a building species rather than fighters, but that's just my opinion...
