This series is so well written, I didn't have time to read until just now, and it really is some fluent writing.
It's good that this dares to be different, telling some Halo history. Yet by no fault of the Author, sometimes you do miss the Covenant aliens being the ones we're fighting and not one another.
Still, that does mean you get to read some interesting descriptions of wounds by bullets and not the same old needles and plasma.
