I don't get why he burst at everyone for nothing, Sean's comment was inappropriate and unnessecary.

Seriously, Zak, how old are you? 10?

It's okay, Sean, that's all you pretty much have to say. Not that you got dumber when you read it, that, my friend, is known as an insult.

Just say you didn't like it, and the author should be fine.

Romac, seriously, CHILL OUT. You're not makin' any sense, man. Don't get pissed at Severian because he didn't do anything, or you'll become known as a n00b.

This isn't a forum I'm just here to read and write. Well I guess the story was well one of a kind but I just didn't like it so I'll say sorry.

Hey, 'Sean', you are entitled to your opinions but I doubt that you got dumber by reading this. You should have been actually enlightened by this, as this story would have warned you not to read anymore of my stories, asshole.

Dean Koontz ain't that bad. But I think Dan Simmons, with his (ahem) Hyperion books, and right now the Ilium, is better. And Gene Wolfe, too. Book of the New Sun simply rocks.

I think I might have 'Needful Things' lying around my bookshelves somewhere, I just need to find it. And if anyone cares, my favorite Dean Koontz book is Winter Moon...it's pretty freaky.

My favorites are The Tommyknockers (the one I just finished), Needful Things, Cujo, and Everything's Eventual. I'm reading "Four Past Midnight" currently, which features four different stories.

In it, I'm reading "Secret Window, Secret Garden."

My favorite Stephen King books remains the ones he wrote as Peter Straub, The Stand and... the Shining, and maybe some others... can't rightly decide right now. I have to say this: the Dark Tower series went downhill after book two.

Thanks, all, for who took the time to comment. Especially for those who believed this was creative- thank you. However, I still think that I messed up on this story... I wrote this story, trying to write like an Flood-infected insane mass murderer, (although the question is, if you are infected, how can you write in the first place?)after reading the excellent "The Killer Inside Me." It's a first person account of a killer, and it hyped me up to try something like it. Hence the title, "The Flood inside Me."
But the fact remains that however original my intentions might have been, the final result in my opinion is less than average in taste and quality. Something disturbing does not neccesarily have to be dirty- look at, like ColdBlooDed said, Stephen King, and many other classics of horror and science fiction. (Bram Stoker, anyone?)

Yeah, Stephen King is intense at making people go insane, or look like they're insane.

So if you want, just try and get "Everything's Eventual" and read the story "Room 1401," this book is a collection of short stories he had written.

Room 1401 is crazy, it actually freaked me out.

Yeah, I liked it. It portrays an insane, half Flood-infected person very well.
Stephen King's good at making people go insane? I should read some o' his stuff for a story I'm writing. Right now I'm kinda into Dean Koontz. I think he's a really good writer.

What the hell?

It's like watching an insane man for a day. I think it's actually sort of creepy, when you think about the stuff he says.

I agree with Cold Blooded...I actually thought this story was pretty sweet. Don't knock it - it was interesting and actually seemed like it was written by an insane murderer. Keep trying new things - you're creative and original and we need to see far less of the typical - "Masta Cheif killed the flood. 5 more came, 2 on teh left with shotguns and 3 on teh right wtih assualt riffles. He killed them all..." - stories.

I thought it was unique, and I actually quite liked it. This reminds me of some Stephen King stuff, that particular author is fuckin' AWESOME at making his characters go insane, simply awesome. You've got to read "Secret Window, Secret Garden." or "Everything's Eventual". Both great, great stories.

As for this, I liked it, and as I said I thought it was unique. Certainly better than most n00b stories here...

I give you an A for creativity and an F for subject matter. Very disturbing stuff even if he was possessed in some manner by the Flood. Very un-Halo like story but creative.

I WAS trying something new, you know. And like all new things I try, it failed miserably. I'm never doing it again. I tried to write like a insane mass murderer...

First of all, is this a poem or a story? The sentences were crazy. A huge jumbled mass of stuff. Well, I guess it was a pretty bold attemp at a new type of pseudo-poetry or whatever you call it. The begining was understandable, flood take over body, raging killer and such and such but it started sounding like a mafia murder/mob type thingy a little bit on. Anyways, I have to say it was ok. 6.5/10

Parts of it were psychoanalytically correct, such as the killing of his father for sexual possesion of his female. The Flood would be able to expose the inner subconscious of its victims because of the extreme state the neural system would be in.
Wow
