Jake grimaced when he saw the blood. Some of this stuff is just too much for even a SPARTAN. He had to concentrate though; those Wraiths weren't going to kill themselves. He pointed the chain cannon at a Wraith, and began to fire. The bullets found places to out themselves, but no major damage was done, until later. Later was when a Warthog equipped with a grenade launcher came barreling into the battle.

Jake grinned when he saw the first Wraith explode, then when the other began to retreat for a moment. Some Marines along the ground rolled out of the way when a Shadow plowed through the masses, killing its own kind, and Marines. Jake's turret was out of ammo, so he signaled to the driver to slow down, then he hopped off and unsheathed his Battle Rifle.

He took cover behind some wreckage, and tried to rally some troops. He waved and called to them, but they ignored him and sprinted off into the battle. One Marine ran over to him.

"Sir, I need you to follow me," he said.

"For what?"

"I'm taking you to The Trinity," he grinned and called out, "Covering fire!" Jake heard the command being shouted out, and then guns began to blaze.

"Follow me."

They ran into the command tower, which the Wraith had been pummeling, some of the power was knocked out, and some cracks were every-which-way, but it would do.

"Okay sir, we need to get ourselves to the core of this structure," he looked toward the SPARTAN.

"Okay, then what?"

"Then I need to show you why all of the Marines ignore you," he grimaced.

"It's not a girl is it? I know how the Marines can get around them," he grinned.

"Kind of," the Marine smiled, as they boarded the elevator.

When they reached the bottom, they found some kind of tiny room. It had four small towers, in the middle of the room. Jake guessed they were for AI Constructs.

"Hello?" Jake said.

"Quiet," the Marine said.

"Who is it?" a female voice said.

"Liar," Jake whispered.

Suddenly the towers flickered, and four AI Constructs emerged form the tops of the towers.

"Whoa," Jake thought aloud, "That's a lot of, well, brain power."

"This is The Trinity," the Marine said.

"So why do they ignore huh?" he asked one of the Constructs.

"Because we told them to," she smiled.

"What! They're out there dying and I offer help, but you tell them to ignore me? How come they listen?"

"We control them," another said.

"Yes, every last one, except you."

"Why don't you control me?" Jake pondered.

"'Cuz you're a SPARTAN," the third said.

"So!" Jake shouted.

"Well, we don't like SPARTAN's," she smiled.

"Why the Hell not?" Jake asked.

"Watch your tone!" one yelled.

"'Cuz we can't control you," she smiled, and then the Marine's head blew up.

"What the fu-" Jake jumped away from the blast.

"Like a said before we control them," the first said.

"Yes, every last one," the second said.

"Bitches..." Jake said under his breath.

"Watch it! We'll have every Marine here attack you!" the third said.

"Bring them on," Jake drew his gun.

"Oh, do we have a smart ass?" the second asked.

"You might," Jake answered.

"Hahaha, you make me laugh,"

"No, really we will send all them at you," the third said again.

"Don't make me repeat myself, bring them on," Jake was feeling cocky now.

"Huh?" one said and staggered back, "You're serious?"

"I'm not afraid of a bunch of girls," Jake smiled and pointed his gun at them.

"I dare you to shoot us!" the third said.

"You do?"

They looked around, stunned.

"So, what's your 'master plan'?" Jake lowered the gun a bit.

"Our mind control spreads through out everything, it's not mechanical, it's genetic,"

"Okay..." Jake pushed on.

"So eventually, we think we could take over all of the human race," she grinned.

"So, the Covenant wants three bitches?" Jake asked.

"WATCH IT!!" the third said again.

"No, you," Jake pulled the trigger until all of the towers were destroyed.

He then heard multiple screams, and they sounded like Marines.

When he made it up to the surface, all of the Marines were dead. They must've triggered their deaths when they died. The Covenant was mostly gone, but some were still there, including some Shadows. Once he had finished mopping them up, he sat back and sighed, he realized that he was up against more then just the Covenant.
