The night is silent and here i lie
the glowing embers of the days light are gone
in my hole i sit alone my thoughts all i have of my own
my friends all dead and gone here i am alone
the raging tide came crashing down and none but i survived
the raging beast came charging on i alone stood against his cries now at my feet dead here he lies the greater warrior survives
but why am i blessed to live when better men than i have died
i pray to the almighty god that there souls may rest in peace
i must cut this message short for i hear the monsters howels
there lust for blood is unquenchable they kill without remorse
the sergeant is calling us to go and man the line
i do not know if i will survive for the beasts are massing on there lines
but if i die i know that i will go to a better place and be at peace forever.
