Some believe in an alternate universe. Some don't. Nothing about it has been proven...yet. Scientific records record wormholes, but where do these lead? The only people to go through these wormholes never come back, and they disappear once a ship goes through them. This is the story of a UNSC vessel called the Atlantis, an expirimental new breed of ship, is on its maiden voyage.
The UNSC carrier, a huge, brown ship with 30 docking bays could keep 300 Longsword fighters, 400 Warthogs, 200 Scorpian Tanks, 200 Pelican dropships, and 11,500 marines and ODSTs. The Atlantis was the one and only super carrier of the UNSC fleet. It needed a vast crew to sustain it. This was a last resort against the Covenant ships.
It had three MAC cannons but two were innoperable because of low power, and 800 missile launcher bays with over 90,000 missiles. No one Covenant ship could stand against this super ship. Not even three could. Except, when it was finished of course.
17,329 lives aboard the super-ship are about to prove to "non-believers" that this is indeed true.

Captain John Nicolas thought it was a good day today. Not one distraction. Not one Covenant vessal or a distress signal. He was about to dose off in his office when the ship's alarm blared.
"Report," he said into the mike on his desk.
"Covenant Ship off port side, but there's only one," Ensign Jesse Wilson replied.
"Hang tight. I'm on my way."

The Covenant ship, Holy Guidance, a small, purple ship that looked like a shark without its topfin and its mouth closed, was on a mission to find a human base, named Reach. Rumors have sprouted that it was the human home world, but no one was certain. Therefore, they sent a ship outfitted with a cloaking device, unfortunately for the ship, it was malfunctioning right in the middle of enemy territory.
"GET THAT CLOAKING DEVICE ONLINE NOW!" yelled the ship commander, Hore 'Bedineere.
"I am working as fast as I can," the engineering elite said.
"Human ship spotted," reported the helmsman. "We are no match for a carrier. We need to engage the slipspace an-"
"I will not except cowardice on this ship. Arm the plasma torpedoes. Fire when read-" The commander was jolted when a MAC round hit the front of the ship, followed by countless thuds of missles.

      "Direct hit. MAC recharging... Ready."
      "Fire. Take that sucker out."
The Holy Guidance was going into evasive maneuveres after the first hit, but it was still too late. The ship had taken another hit on the portside and its shields were taken out. The volley of missles followed and hit the target with ease, as the ship's defence lasers were damaged with the first hit.
The ship spun counterclockwise, then just, disappeared. The Atlantis's bridge crew looked on with disbelief. A red vortex just sucked the ship into it, right when it was going to blow.
"What just happened?," the captain asked.
"I don't know sir," replied Wilson.

It had been ten days since it's last engagement, and the mission hasn't changed at all. Patrol the UNSC borders for Covenant activity. That was given to them two months ago.
Atlantiswas about to get into a slipspace jump when a strange, red vortex appeared in front of the ship.
"Identify that," Captain Nicolas said. "What in God's sweet mercy is that?"
"I don't know sir, but it is sucking us in. Be prepared for impact."
"Prepare for impact. This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill," the captain said in the mike.
The captain felt a rumble and saw a red light appear at the front of the bridge. He could feel it getting closer. Finally, it touched his foot, and there was an aching sensation in it. Unconsiously, he stood up, only to be devoured by the red faster. Nicolas fell to the floor, along with the other crew on the bridge, and saw a few try to get away from it. They pushed each other over to get away, but it would inevitably get all of them.

UNKNOWN DATE-UNSC Calendar. UNKNOWN UNIVERSE.

The captain awoke with a throbbing headache and an aching body. He could hardly get up. He forced his eyes open and found himself where he lay what felt like moments before. He tried to lean up, but it felt like an invisible barrier kept him for doing it. He managed to turn his head to his right, and saw that other people were moaning from the pain.
Good, we're not dead, the captain thought to himself.

After about what felt like an eternity, the pain was finally going away. Private First Class Terance McCloud leaned up and looked around. McCloud was working on a Warthog when he saw people running away. There was no time to get from under it when he saw it. He could see no one, and that scared him.
He feared the worst, all the crew except him were dead, or captured. Was this a new Covenant weapon? Maybe. Maybe when he was asleep boarders took over the ship and captured everyone. Maybe they didn't see him, or maybe he just got lucky.
McCloud walked to the weapons locker on the wall and picked up an MA5B and 4 clips along with 2 frag grenades. If they were still on this ship, he wouldn't want to die without a fight. At least he knew he could end the life of at least one grunt.
After walking through two hallways and a few rooms, he could find nobody. He started to make his way to the bridge when a door suddenly opened up behind him. He quickly flung around and pointed his weapon at the door, only to find a fellow human walk through.
"Whoa, put the weapon down. Hey McCloud, haven't seen you in a while," a PFC told him.
"Thank God. I never thought I'd like to see your face, Walker."
"Yeah I love you too. Do you know what happened?"
"Attention, any able-bodied crew or soldiers come to the briefing room ASAP," announced the P.A system.
"Oh well, we'll save the reunion till next time. Come on, McCloud lets go."

Numerous people arrived in the briefing room, a large room in the center of the ship that could seat 20,000 people. The UNSC made it like this because this was a last-resort ship. If Earth was destroyed.
"We are going to search this ship top to bottom looking for other crew members," the captain announced.
"I saw a few people on our way up here but they looked...dead," a female marine said.
"I don't think they are dead," the captain began. "So far, 649 people have come here, I expect to see more people. I want some explanation as to what happened here." He was looking at the scientists that were on the ship. "Maybe we can find out where we are."
More people were arriving when he was giving orders. So far, it seemed like nobody was dead, but it was too early to be sure. At the end, 17,313 had arrived, and 16 were still missing, some of which had some kind of disease. Theories were the red had something to do with this.
The crew began to look for the 16 who were missing. They searched everywhere, and they began to find them. Three were reported to be dead, due to a heart attack. Six were in critical condition, the red must have triggered some kind of reaction, and the seven others were fine, they were just slow to arouse from the effects.
The captain told them to come back to the briefing room after the search, which lasted for three hours, was finished.
"Get a good rest people. We are going to find out the mystery tomorrow."
