chapter I
0640 hours, August 30, 2552 (military Calendar)/
Epsilon Eridani System, Reach's under-ground base
As Dr. Halsey started her normal work, a loud explosion hit the under ground base like a loud thunder hit the floor. then she heard the intercom, "intruder alert, all personnel arm your-self's with anything weapon you can". To the shock and horror of everyone the planet Reach was being overwhelmed with Covenant troops. The doctor had some comefort in the fact that the soldiers she trainned are defending her vary life, The doctor knew the Covenant already have planned new tactics to kill the Spartan super-soldiers. she feared that the destuction of all the Spartans will be the fall of Humanity. What the Covenant and the Spartans don't know about is the New Warrior cast biologicly enginnered for war code-named Assassin. Assassin program was strated to replace the Spartans but a problem prevented the new soldier from making more than one so the sole Assassin trainned in the black ops. The only problem was the soldier was in a cryo. Down four levels and the only way of from escaping the doomed planet was two levels up it would take all the luck in the world. The thought made Dr. Halsey tremble as she started down the hall on the way to the armory she manage to take out two grunts and a jackal.
Dr. Halsey found her side arm and started down the hall towards the armory where the marines were preparing for the covenant attack. she asked for a team to go throught covenant held sections of the complex base. only four marines came forward to accept the chalange Sgt. Stacker, Pvt. Jameson, Pvt. Dietz, and Pvt. Kohler the rest of the marines will hold back the covenant patrols.
"Hey sarge." Kohler said. "what now." Sgt. said. "you know it odd noting is picking up on the motion senser.""Pvt. shut up and do what you are told.""sir yes sir." Dr. Halsey said "Hey you two shut it and get over here we can use this lift shaft but the door is jammed, Dietz come here help me.""Yes mam." Dietz said.
As the team came to the floor as the doors opened the team saw a hunter and two elites. All you could hear the gun fire and explosions. as the dust cleared the covenant troops lay dead and Pvt. kohler body was painted all over the walls. The two remained marines and Dr Halsey presed on. At the end of the next hall was a shade gun and two other jackals. Dr Halsey had a pistol with a zoom of 2X she took out the shade gun while the marines took cover and killed the two jackals. As the first jackal was down the second jackal fired a plasma charge burst. The burst hit a coolent pipe which sprayed all over Pvt. Dietz the combination of plasma fire and coolent froze his body and the plasma burst this body in a million pieces. The remainning marines and the doctor which found a second way to the cyro.bay. On the way to the cryo.bay they found a medkit in a lab and pached a burn on Sarge's arm.
"It burns It burns!" Sgt. said. "Stand still" Jameson said. "you two stop fouling around pick up the pace," Dr. Halsey Said. "how far is the cryo.bay." Sgt. said. "Just down the hall." Dr. Halsey said.
As the team moved down the halls passing barracks, offices, labs, and cryo.bays the ground shock as more explosions blew up on the surface it was a sign of thing going bad or the slim chance of things going good. As they got closer the planting explosives in key area so after they left they could destroy all info. on weapons tactics and maps of there coloies.
Sgt. Stacker and Pvt. Jameson escorted the Dr. Halsey into the cryo.bay01. As the two soldiers guarded the door, the doctor went to the control room next to the catwalks as more explosions hit the base, then she found the unlock key. "We'll never make it, will we sarge" Jameson said. "look sharp son and quit your bellyachin" Stacker said. "We might not make it but if this new warrior makes it the human race might have a chance to survive. Finally Dr. Halsey unlocked the system and the cryo tube opened. The marines looked in horror as a seven foot tall black scaled humanlike creature slowly stepped out and grunted.
"I'm back!"
