The Fall of the Covenant Chapter One: The Alien and the Deceiver

Authors Note: Sorry for any and all mistakes in this Fic and sorry for the delay of this Fic. I have had severe writers block, and well, have been grounded a lot. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you and enjoy

Corporal Murphy stood on the bridge of the UNSC destroyer, the Raider, gazing out the front viewport of the ship. He was part of the security team, so he had his BR55 Battle Rifle close to him. The ports showed the same thing. The planet, Jericho IV, swarming with Covenant ships.
"God I hate this mission already," muttered the young Corporal. HE knew the mission was suicide, and so did every other person on the ship.
"Corporal Murphy, please report to the OSDT lounge. Repeat: please report to the OSDT lounge. Thank you."
Murphy looked up at the speaker and scowled at it.
"Couldn't they wait 'till first squad went down?" asked the dumbfounded soldier.
The marine turned on his foot and walked out of the bridge. He walked down the Main Hall B, through Armory 2, and past the Mess hall, just to get to the "lounge". Truth was, it wasn't even a lounge at all. The OSDT lounge was just and elevator that led to the ODST armory, the to their HEV pods.
Murphy met up with the Major of the group and apologized for his lateness. The rest of his team, consisting of twenty Privates and four Lance Corporals, looked at him with fear in their eyes. Not saying anything to his team, he took his place with them and descended to the armory. They all nervously checked their weapons without a word.
"Man I hate this crap." Remarked a Private.
"Me too, boy, me too." Replied the Major

Adrian Tillian looked over the pile of alien bodies at the tower erected by the Covenant. He held his MP5 Heavy, a massive four barreled gun that fired .70 caliber bullets, and aimed in front of him, waiting for it to move. A twig snapped and Tillian sprayed the .70 caliber bullets at the Elite he was watching.
"Command base, this is Tillian. The LZ for the Helljumpers is hot and waiting. Tell me if you need any more real-estate, and I'll take care of it," reported the soldier.
The radio clicked and Tillian ran away from the area he cleaned as the sky rippled and four-hundred HEV pods screamed through the atmosphere of Jericho IV.
"Well Tillian, looks like you did okay with clearing the area," remarked Major Tobias as his HEV screamed toward him.
"Well, sir, I try my best," replied Tillian, smirking as the HEV's landed one by one on the ground.
The first pod opened, revealing the Major Tillian had talked to. The major was grabbing an M7 Sub-Machine gun from the pod, along with 10 extra clips of ammunition.       He looked around the area as the rest of the OSDTs got out of the HEVs. Tillian stood, waiting for the Marines to assemble around him, and the Major. They were in front of him as four Banshee fliers screamed past him and Major Tobias.
      "Shit that wasn't good..."

Corporal Murphy got into his HEV and secured the hatch. His mission deployment clock read T minus thirty seconds to go and he needed every single one to get ready. Finally the clock read zero, and the HEVs jerked out of the bay, and into the shafts leading out of the ship. Murphy's HEV jerked and shook as it left the Raider's gravity field, and into empty space. The HEV resumed its rumbling and violent shaking as it entered Jericho IV's gravity field and burned up as it descended to the surface.
Murphy heard an unfamiliar voice saying something about an area being clear. He heard Major Tobias reply to the voice and then the Corporal blacked out.

Tillian turned his weapon to the passing Banshees and tapped a button near the trigger. A fifth barrel popped out of the bottom and fired four seeking missiles at the enemy fliers.
"Take that, you greedy little bastards!" screamed Tillian and the Major in unison. The missiles impacted on the fliers and detonated, sending blue sparks to dance across the sky. The Helljumpers cheered as the ships fell to the ground, and as the sparks danced.
"Oh shit, sirs. There are six Phantoms inbound." reported a 'Jumper.
The soldiers went quiet
