The year is 2701, the war between the Covenant and humans raged on for 19 more years since Master Chief destroyed the ancient ring known as Halo. No one could have guessed that the humans could last so long against the Covenant, but an alliance formed just five years after the destruction of Halo, kept the human race from extinction. Yet, not even the alliance with the Generics, a long time rival with the Covenant, could stand against the strong determination of the Covenants on their quest to destroy all mankind.

In the final years of the war, the humans and the Generics seemed to be fighting a losing battle. Earth took such a beating, that Earth's rotation slowed down by 1,102 mph, turnin night into day and day into night and making the days longer.

Master Chief, after fighting the war, showed signs of fatigue, and didn't seem like he could last much longer, but will fight to the death to make sure that humankind is safe from the ever proceeding Covenants.

This story starts on the moon, were Master Chief and 1500 Marines and 2500 Generics fought desperately to take back the moon the Covenants took so long ago. If the humans secured the moon, they can build the needed space bases and the cannons that will fire from the moon to Earth to destroy the Covenant bases and Covenant troops on Earth. Of course the Covenants knew this, so they fought back with a force 10,000 strong.

"How can the have 10,000 troops up here with most of the war being fought down on Earth?" questioned Captain John McKevin, "We do not know, if only we could find their planet, we could hit them where it hurts," said a furious Colonial Sam Terance as his fist hit his desk.

"Ok, so we'll begin the attack at 0600 tomorrow morning, sending 200 Marines and 500 Generics including the Master Chief behind enemy lines to attack them from behind as we attack from the front," said the colonial to the Generic Captain Hermaric Honoman, "Are you sure about this, what if the Covenants attack the 700 troops going behind the lines?" questioned the captain, "It's a risk I'm willing to take."

0300 hours,
Location:The human base, Freedom Rings

The base is quiet, with only one space tent's light on. Master Chief is preparing for the battle, checking his armor, his weapons, everything over and over to make sure not malfunctions. "What are you doing up, you should be asleep, getting rested?" questioned Cortana, "Yeah, but this armor and these weapons save my life, plus, i'll sleep when i'm dead," said the Master Chief in a calm, relaxed voice. "Don't be thinking that, you fought this war for 19 years, and barely a scratch on you," said Cortana, "Yeah, but i'm just gettin lucky."

0330 hours,
Location:Freedom Rings

The base, peaceful and quiet, only the light of Master Chief's tent breaks the dark. The siren from the main watch tower sounds, "The Covenant are coming!" screamed the watchman. Panic breaks, but then settles as every soldier puts on their armor and break for the lines. "Damn it, those Covenant bastards, they must have attacked us with 2,000 of their troops to weaken us, even if they lost all of them, they'll still outnumber us, I figured they would do that, i guess we'll have to start the plan a little later than expect, but bring 100 Marines and 100 Generics to the left side, we'll flank them," said the colonial, "Yes, Sir!" said Private Aric Monroe, "Also," said the colonial as the private started to walk out, "take the Master Chief with, he'll do more damage there than he would on the frontline." "Yes, Sir!" and Monroe left the tent.

"You think this will work, flanking them on just one side?" questioned the Generic captain, "I hope so, that is all the troops we can spare, and the Covenants usually have the Brutes and Hunters off to the sides, this way, we won't have to deal with them on the frontline." Sitting back in his chair, the colonial sighed, "You better get your plasma rifle out, this could get ugly," said the colonial, "I will when I need it," said Hermaric with a brave, calm voice.

The plasma cannons started to bombard the base, as the Pelicans took off to their destination, the first battle for the moon begun. The plasma cannons shots falling short or going to long, only few shots hit the base, with little damage. With all the noise and destraction, the Covenants did not notice the Pelicans leave for their destination, giving the humans and Generics the edge in the first battle for the moon.
