Chapter one:
Orbital M.A.C. platform Malta in orbit around Earth,
October 20th, 1252, military calendar
1437 time
Will stood at attention saluting the captain of the Malta, then headed off to the transport ships so he could head over to the Cario and meet up with John-117 better known as the master chief. Just as he reached the doors to the ship a marine interrupted.
"Covenant warships, just off Mars." Yelled a marine standing at the navigation terminal, he hit a button and strobe red lights blinked on.
Then a voice came over speaker,
"This is fleet admiral Harper I am engaging the enemy." And the main view screen that had been until recently showing the U.N.S.C.D.F. logo switch to show an assortment of ships heading towards the convenent battle group.
"Negative Admiral pull back defend the orbital cannons" came an order from Admiral Hood on the M.A.C. station Cario 2000km distant.
The view screen changed once again to show the orbital weapons testing facility above mars, and a light flashing to indicate a incoming message.
"We intercepted a message it says…." The communication was cut, but the sound of air and metal exploding as boiling hot plasma burned it's way through the facility was still present until that washed into static. About twenty more reports just like this came unto screen and will saw one saying. Civilian ship hit, passengers equal 674 people.
"boarding craft inbound prelimery count 28 heading for us" yelled the navigation marine again.
"Will, Linda get a gun protects this cannon." Ordered the captain them moved onto another screen
"Linda you go down to firing control make sure they don't take that out, I'll stay here and protect the captain" said will while loading and prepping a battle rifle and two pistols which he put in his hip holsters.
She ran out the door leading towards firing control with 13 marines following her then Bang. Came the sound of a boarding craft hitting just out side the control room.
"Get Everone in here and shut that door count to four and vent the entire atmosphere in that room" ordered Will to no one in particular but was happy to see several people respond to his call. Soon the doors clanged shut and then Will heard the muffled hissing and gurgles of numerous elite dying without the oxygen. Just as the door was opening a corporal yelled out the obvious,
"The grunts will still be there so don't fill in your R'an'R sheets just yet." He looked particularly at a group of soldiers that were talking to them self ignorant to the desperateness of the situation.
The door hissed open and on the other side was smoke and it was apparent that at least two of the grunts or elites had let loose a plasma grenade and they had hit a fuel valve, so not only were the grunts scared of blowing themselves up a few weer also on fire.
"Fire, Fire Open Fire." Yelled Will and the soldiers happily obliged sending over 30 marines worth of metal and grenade into the fray. Needless to say the grunts were down on a matter of seconds, but the real threat came from the second and third wave of aliens that dropped out of the boarding craft. Though there wasn't many elites as most had died in there scramble to try and get the first kill.
A 50. cal opened up and blew an elite clean in half and also ignited a grunts methane tank and while it was running around in a panicked frenzy it sent intricate arcs and twirls in the smoke. Will chucked a fragmentation grenade into the group and when it exploded it blew three grunts to ribbons and took a leg of a nearby silver clad elite, but it limped back up and was finally killed under a hail of bullets form the marines that had been talking to them self.
And so it went for a full half hour a group of convenent would appear and the soldiers would chuck two or three grenades into them and finish them of with a curtain of lead from the guns, the only notable thing that happened was a sword bearing elite appeared and killed four marines before being killed.
Then a message appeared on Will's HUD,
"Their was too many of them they broke through our lines they've bought a bomb with them and armed it." Will stepped forward to head down to firing control when Linda said over the com. "no you get off this station I'll do what I can against the bomb. Will took the order and gathered as many people as he can and lead them to the escape pods they hopped in and took off.
Authors note: There will be more to this, I don't know how many chapters but I'm planning of adding two more characters and set it out similar to Halo: The flood (with a chapter or two each character)
