Thanks for applying to the United Nations Space Command. As a candidate for military service, you are taking a life changing step in a new and positive direction. In the UNSC you will find rewarding skills that will help you throughout your life, and be better prepared to face the future. Good luck!

UNSC Corpsman's Pledge

Why We Fight
Because the weak can't

Why We Bleed
So the innocent don't feel the pain.

Why We Die
So that others may live.

Why Do We Do What We Do
For her and you.

ODST Combat Drop Hymn

Feet First Into Hell
Raise our weapons and let loose a yell
Steel coffins dropping from the sky
Crazy bastards who live to die

Only those too stupid to know the odds
Ever dare chance to enter these pods
Through the sky like a hot thunderclap
Tough from hardtop helmet to bottom boot strap

Deadly with or without their weapons
They kill with for fun and with grin
Destroyer of worlds
Gods among men

Helljumpers their name
They do that which most don't
Heaven or hell
They'll never say won't

No risk is too great
Or challenge too large
ODSTs lead the way
They head up the charge

Helljumpers fight for all the right
And freedom from all the wrong
It's likely that you know we fight
If you're the poor bastard in this song.

Note: This song is only sung in combat by ODST. This song may never be used formally during parade or by non-ODST personnel.

Pledge of Duty

I pledge myself to this highest honor
To do what is asked of me though it may be rough
With willingness to sacrifice for the greater good
And pledge my duty to myself and to others

In order to make a more perfect union
I will fight against tyranny and injustice
Against those who are the oppressors of freedom
So that liberty may never die

Thus I pledge myself, my honor, and my duty
To uphold and defend the banner of the United Nations
So that the Earth and her colonies
May forever be at peace
And those under her control
Will always be ruled by justice

Note: At least one judicial representative must be present at the time the oath is administered, as well as one notary witness. Upon completing the pledge of duty candidates must then fill out Application Forms C-12, OCS-1232, and FA-S1. A full explanation of those forms follows.

Application Forms Overview

Candidacy Form C-12:
Issued form of candidacy. All candidates must fill out the required name, address, birth, and subsequent health and demographics portions of this form. Failure to do so correctly is punishable upon submission by up to one month in jail and a C10,000 fine.

Officer Candidate School Form 1232: All prospective attendees of Officer Candidate School must properly fill out this form in order to be considered for enrollment. Those who do not wish to attend OCS are required to fill out the forms, but may choose to check the option marked 'no' near the consideration section. Officer Candidate School attendance is highly selective, and is not guaranteed with the submission of this form.

Fleet Assignment- Section 1: In order to receive a fleet- or space-based assignment, all candidates are required to fill out and attend Fleet Training Academy. Fleet Training Academy is a rigorous two week supplemental requirement course that teaches life-saving shipboard skills and techniques. Failure to pass the FTA Final Exams two times negates a candidate's ability to proceed to a fleet assignment.

What Happens Now

Now that you've enrolled, you'll normally have a week to two week waiting period before you're training classes begin. Once the new classes are ready to start, a letter will arrive with a priority attachment in your in-box. After you have received the letter, you will have to verify that you understand when the classes are to begin (normally a week after the letter was originally sent). Failure to return the letter or appear for initiation ceremonies will be regarded as an Absent Without Leave (AWOL) defection and treasonable conspiracy to illicit harm, punishable under the Piracy and Militant Forces Prevention Act.
When you arrive at your instruction and information school for your six week class on field manuevers, as well as a rigorous physical excercise regimen, you will be assigned two sets of uniforms, a weapon, and a barracks. All training candidates must sleep in the barracks, and are not allowed to leave the I&I School until their course has been completed.
Once a candidate has completed this initial pre-requisite training period they will either be assigned to a planetary post on one of the many UNSC controlled colony worlds, or depart for Officer Candidate School or Fleet Training Academy.
