It all seems like a dream. Or at least thats how he felt.
He started to lose his balance, swaying whenever he moved, until eventualy falling over because of a nearby explosion...

"GRENADE!"(BOOM)

He thought for a moment that he had gone to heaven. That all the violence, anger, hate, and sadness had gone away. For a moment, he thought he heard the voice of an angel...

"I need a Corpsman!" shouted Commander Keyes with all the air in her lungs.

This was of course, when reality came into the fray... Sticking out of his chest where three or four spikes that had found their way into the Commedore.

"your going to be ok Mike...your going to be ok.."(said the commander trying to hold back her tears)" I need a Corpsman!" this time her voice was scratchy, more desperate...

The Commedore tried several times to get to his feet, but each time with no success. It was only when the corpsman finaly showed up that he started to actualy feel the spikes in him.

"Hes going to be fine if we can get thses spikes out of him. Commedore, I need you to squeeze Commander Keyes' hand as tightly as you can alright, can you do that?"

(struggling to even breath, he grips her hand with whatever energy he had left in him.)

"Alright, on three, one, two, three!"

(long cry of pain)

By this point all the spikes had been taken out of him. But they now had a new problem, they couldn't stop the bleeding.

"Ma'am, help me get him to a safer place so I can help him!"

The two of them lifted the Commedore to his feet and carried him to the nearest Pelican.

"Ma'am, I can't go with you- the Marines here need my help. But when you get on Board In Amber Clad, give this to the Corpsman on board" handing her a folded note. "tell them to get exactly this or else-"

The corpsman was cut-off before he could finish. The bolt from a Carbine hit him in the back of the head, sending blood onto the side of the Pelican and onto one of the seats.

"Mike, your going to be ok...your going to be ok..." this time she showed no restraint. Tears came down the side of her face even faster than the Pelican was moving. Seconds felt like hours, the Commedores White colored uniform had turned a dark-Crimson color from all the blood he had lost. His face started to turn a very pale white and his breathing began to slow down. He knew he was going to die and he had accepted that.

"Mike dont give up, listen to me! Dont give up!" The long flight to In Amber Clad was over, Miranda Keyes and two Corpsman had put him onto a stretcher and moved him to sick-bay.

"Ma'am, Im sorry, hes not going to make it. If we had gotten him sooner, he may have had a chance, but he has lost too much blood and-"

The corpsman had stopped talking because Miranda's cries had become so loud, that he didnt know what to do."I want to see him" The Corpsman replied" Ma'am I dont think that you should-" "I want to see him NOW, thats an order Marine!"

Upon entering the room where the Commedore was being treated, she fell to her knees just at the sight of her closest friend being in pain. The two of them had been friends their whole lives. From Birthday parties, to Their graduation from the Naval acadamy, the two of them had known each other thru good and bad.

"Hey Miranda" said the Commedore."Hey Michael" she replied. "Looks like this is something Im not getting out of huh?" He started stroking Miranda's Hair."Dont say that." said Miranda struggling to act like an officer."Your going to be fine." but sadness had overcome her, and she bagan crying again.

Some of the Commedore's last thoughts were of his childhood. He recalled meeting the Keyes family those long years ago. He remembered that day like it was yesterday. A smile came across his face when he recalled meeting a girl his age, Miranda and the things they did whenever they got to see each other. He saw Miranda's face one last time, then took his final breath.

It was right at this moment that Miranda remembered something, the letter that the Corpsman had given her aboard Royal Sovreign, It read " give him two shots from bin #4 and and the bleeding will stop. Close up the wound immediatly after you get him."

Upon reading the letter, her heart sank with guilt. "could I have saved him???" was the only thing running thru her mind, Until she heard a 'cling' on the ground. It was a Gold-Diamond ring that had just fallen out of the Commedore's hand. Seeing this was too much too handle. She drew her side-arm, pointed it at her head, and was about to pull the trigger when she felt a slight burning sensation in her hands, almost like something didnt want her to hold the gun...
