Humanities First Hope part 1

Autors note: please dont bite my head off because this is my first full story and im pretty new to the site

It was damp out and there was a clear mist. I was transfered from the 451st marine division and I was surrounded by elites in white armor, the elites,grunts, and hunters had suceded from the Covenant and the Master cheif died in combat with the Flood, but that about 50 years ago. The flood were the biggest threat so humanity and the remaining Covenant had joined in an alliance. And this is my story.
It all started when the flood apeared in massive ships that were made very poorly but were hard to kill because of their bulk. The first invasion from the Flood was on a remote planet that had less than 500,000 people on it. But I had no time to think about the past because my team of Sangelhi were in hand to hand combat with flood combat forms. I then fired into the crowed with my MA5B and mowed down the creatures while screaming '' You think you can get past me you infectious S O Bs well guess again.'' I then finished off my clip and ran to the nearby machinegun.'' I then pulled down the trigger and watched as scores of flood combat forms and infectors fell from the arm sized bullets from the Mk.10 machinegun. After what seemed like half an hour one of the three remaining sangheli aproached me and said '' Jon we are going back to theTalfagar 2, the Phantom will be here shortly.'' I then loaded my rifle and went to the bunker to inform the civilians that were in there.
When I reached where ODSTs were I saw that those jerks were fast asleep so I kicked one of them in the teeth and said '' You jackasses get up I just saved you from being infected.'' The rest got up and started to fight me. The ODST that I kicked in the mouth threw a quick jab but because of all of my specialtraining from all known weapons and hand to hand styles I grabbed his fist and twisted his arm to the point where I heard sick snapping sounds. I then saw the ODST on my right take a lightning fast cobra strike at my face but before it connected I pulled he ODST I had an armlock on in front of the fist.
The ODST I used for a sheild was knocked out cold so I threw him into the second attacker and did a jab at the vital point of the second ODST from behind the flying corpse. The ODST was knocked out cold. the last ODST after seeing his two commrads being beaten with almost no effort pulled his pistol from its holster and tryed to get a bead on me. But he was too slow and I grabbed the pistol from his hand and emtied the clip into his leg. I then said '' Could somebody take care of this slimeball.'' I threw the pistol away on my way out. Outside the Phantom was hovering on the ground and the civilians had already gone onboard so I went back in and grabbed all of the ODSTs

Time 2550, May 2, 12:32 standered time
Area : Talfagar 2s Bunk room.
I awoke from my deep sleep when the ships combat alarms went off. I put on my combat suit and ran to the armory. On the way I ran into a flood combat form that just killed a pistol weilding crewman. I knew what I had to do so I jumped for the pistol and enptied the clip into where the infection form was. I then heard a garbeled shreik and the creature collapsed. I then continued on and saw a woman and two crewman being infected by a group of infection flood. I pushed the emergency sheild activation button and the sheild blocked off the Flood that were trying to get in. I then began to run for the bridge and hear the captain over the intercom '' attention all crew evacuate the talfagar I am going to ram the ship into the Flood vessal.'' I then changed course to the hanger and picked up a shotgun from the floor. I then saw near the weapon was an ammo/weapon dispencer.
I went to it and had it dispence a box of ammo and a plasma sword. I then continued my run to the Hanger when i saw a group of 4 marines try to hold off an attack from a swarm of flood. the only problem was that the sheild emmiter control pannel was too far for the marines to get too without weakening their suppression fire. I ran to the pannel and punched the button causing the sheild to vaporise all of the flood that tried to pass. I knew that I could use some help and had them follow me to the hangers. When I finally reached the hangers the last Slipspace drive equiped shuttle was set. So I ran onboard and when the ship only had enough room for 2 people I saw Page run into the hanger 2 marines then started to go up the ramp but i said '' only two people are going on this thing and that would be me and Page.'' the ODSTs then charged but I pulled out my plasma sword and choped the first two in half and decapitated the other twos' heads with the weapon.
I then called to Page '' quick get on board we need to move NOW.'' She ran onboard and I entered the pilot seat. I then screamed '' hang on!'. The shuttle launched and exited the ramp as a swarm of flood combat forms followed by infectors swarmed into the bay. When we exited the imediate area i activated the slipspace drive but a random shot hit the rear of the pod causing it to crash into the surface. On the entry I steered it to the nearby Oil factory.

Time: 2550, May 2, 1:36 standered time
Area : unkown planet Oil feild
When we hit the ground I scavanged what I could and picked up two smgs,a shotgun, 4 plasma and 4 fragmentation gernades, and more than enough rounds to take on any threat for both weapons. I then saw that page had hurt her leg and I knew that I had to help my fiance. I then went to the nearby Oil factory and saw a dozen marines and more than too many Flood to take care of the facility. I then saw what I wanted a warthog that had a passenger side chaingun control pannel. I then went to the warthog and hacked into the car from the passenger system once inside I activated the engine and took the driver seat. I then drove to the pods crash site and had Page jump in. once she was secure i drove to the main city but was interupted on the highway by a group of flood combat forms. The combat forms were killed off by a group of cloacked sangheli that then entered a shadow that came from the alley. I continued on until I reached the city and continued to the space port. When i was a few blocks away metiors rained from the sky and began to bombard the planet. It was the Flood's way of glasing a planet. I finally reached a shuttle when a flood combat form charged me so I fired both of my smgs and the rounds killed the paracite inside. I then entered the shuttle and took off with Page. When I started to enter the atmosphere I doged and weaved between asteroids. As i finally reached the atmoshphere I saw a ship that rivaled the size of Halo and I knew what it was instantly from the classified reports The pillar of Auttom 2 .
