"Why am I here? Why is it I'm the one they choose to go looking for a missing squad? Shore I've been out of combat for a while but, hell, I never should have been placed this far away from Alpha base it's like they don't want me around or something. Two UNSC Warthogs gone missing on a simple combat routine, and it's not like they could've died there is nothing to kill you around here. You could understand if this was a hit list for the Covenant are but the idiots go and get them selves lost in tria... What the hell!" Petty Officer Ryan and the gunner of the Warthog yelled. A mysterious blue glowing orb flew from a near by bush and grasped the driver of the Warthog. The driver was screaming as the plasma grenade burn into his before detonating itself. The Warthog flew 6 meters into the atmosphere crashing to the ground in defeat. Petty officer Ryan had been thrown from the warthog in the massive explosion; he was the only remaining member of the three-some. From somewhere in the distance he had heard a high pitched bark-like sound. He picked himself up off the ground not quite remembering what he was doing. He found his pistol and took a look around. He saw his teammates bodies lying limp over the rocky grass. "Damn it, what the hell was that thing" he ask him self, he rushed to remember what had happened. "No, it couldn't be, Covenant here on Signets Oceanus 17." He jumped up and took a look around. Nothing, he was there alone in the middle of the dense forest, again he looked around he turned to the hog, it was nothing but a smoldering pile of steal and rubber. He regained his thoughts, scavenged the 3 grenades he saw lying on the ground, a twig snapped some were behind him and chilling deep, foreign voice spoke, he spun around and fast his threat. His eyes widened as he took in what he saw.

Standing there in front of him were three major ranking jackals, two Special Operations grunts be hind them, and one very tall alien that he had never seen or even heard about. Like the grunt it's armor was black but even thought the marine stood at almost six foot the alien had to have been two feet taller. It stood there looking right into his eyes. The marine saw something very strange yet, behind this new creature, a beam of solid light floated magically in the air. He cursed under his breath as he realized it was cloaked or invisible. He slowly took out one of the three grenades he had salvaged, armed it, counted to three and jumped over the jackals landing right in front of the two elites, the explosive detonated.

Back at alpha base Officer Zachary Michaels tapped impatiently on the frame of his bed waiting for his college to return from his duties. He looked at his watch 1800, "He should be done by know," his thoughts were interrupted when the private comm. channel crackled to life. "Officer Michaels is to report to level five for his briefing ASAP. We expect to see you at 1830 hours end comm." "What the hell was that about he thought to himself, he got up and put on his uniform. Closing the door behind him he walked down the corridor to the elevator. He pressed number four. As the elevator descended, his mind raced to reason what they wanted him for in the highest security level in the base. Floor five was located 6 stories under ground. There was one way down and one way up, a flight of stairs. The elevator opened he stepped into the hall turned right and walk towards the only door there. He noticed as he came closer to the door there was no handle he looked up and saw a camera. Suddenly an AI hologram appeared she looked at him and stated his name, rank, and ID number, then asked him to face the keypad that was level with his head. She spoke "Retina scan confirmed." The door made a hissing sound as it slid open before him stood a staircase that spiraled downward he took a step forward and started his descent to his destination. He looked at his watch, 1820, he had ten minutes to get where he needed to be. He looked up something moved on the wall he studied it as he continued downward, he saw more of them as walked on, he figured out that they were fixed LAAG emplacements that followed him as he walked he stopped they stopped, he walked they followed. He also noted that by the time he was far enough from reach from one, two more were already on him. He turned the corner, in front of him were 17 marines, all but one of them were at attention. The man that was not straitened and looked at him, "Are you Officer Michaels?" eyeing the sarge's rank he saluted and replied, "Sir, yes sir!"

"At ease soldier! From now until you leave this hell whole will do as told, what you see you will keep to yourself, you, son you are now in a highly classified area you will mind your own shit and you own shit only. That is all follow me."
