PRO-LOGUE OF THIS STORY
The temple was filled with the sound of gun-fire, Human and Covenant alike. Sgt. Johnson and his men had landed on the planet two hours ago to scope out the newly discovered world. Ironically, the Covenant were already there, but most had left the planet and declared it an outpost world. They had found the Forruner structures only hours before the marines arrived. "Cardez! Get up here with that rocket-launcher and blast their asses back to where they came from!!" "Yes sir!" "Jacobs, I want you to cover Cardez!!" Sgt. Johnson.... The man who survived the Flood was leading a team of young boys into a losing battle. At first it seemed like they would be able to kill off some Covies without attracting TOO much attention. "Note to self; never over-estistimate the stelth of your men," the sargent thought. "Where's that rocket Cardez!?!" "Got it sir! One devistating explosion, comin' right up," he muttered to himself. Cardez got on one knee, aimed, and fired. The hissing and crackling of the rocket flying through the air was enough to make anyone's hair stand on in. There was an explosion, but Jake Alfred Cardez aimed too low, and when the smoke cleared, the Marines were surrounded by Elites, Jackals, and Grunts. One second later, the blast doors flew open and some knocked an Elite unconcious, and killed a Grunt. Then an entire squad of Spartans lead by the Master Chief, Spartan II John-117, rushed out of the smoke with assault rifles blazing. This completely surprised the Covenant soldiers and caused them to get careless, as a killer-rainbow of genetically enhanced Humans stormed in. But there was one Spartan that stood out. He was a little shorter than the restof them, but seemed to be especially talented in the field, EVEN FOR A SPARTAN, and was quickly becoming the best one of the all. His name was Drake-315,a fourteen-year-old boy already on his tenth, real military mission and this is where our REAL story begins......
HEY WAIT A MINUTE, THATS NOT A MIDGET YOU IDIOT!:
"C'MON YOU FRICKEN PANSIES, SMOKE'EM GOOD! LET'S MOVE MOVE MOVE!!!" John yelled to his squad. "DRAKE, I WANT YOUR TEAM TO COVER THE LEFT FLANK! WE'LL TAKE THE RIGHT!" "YOU GOT IT CHIEF!" Drake yelled back. He was very nervous. He had just recently been given command of his very own team in John's "Spartan Company" and premoted to Corporal for spearheading an assault on Chromer IX, a Covie stonghold. "Alright you heard John, lets wipe these freaks out of existance!" Drake's team moved up the left side of the temple's foyer as ordered. A few Jackals ran in front of them, and were easily killed by Drake's assault rifle amazingly. Drake saw some Elites charge them. "SCATTER!" Drake yelled. He realized that John's plan wasn't going to work, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. The charging Elites were mowed down one by one by his sharp-shooting and his teams's help. But one got through with out Drake noticing. "Heads up kid!!!" John screamed. Drake tuned to see a plasma-sword wielding Elite almost right on top of him. It swang with all of its might, but Drake saw it coming and quickly back-rolled out of the way. To the Elite, time seemed to slow down as looked up from its landed position to see the sage-green armored cyborg on one knee with gun in-hand. The Human was fast, TOO fast for a normal cyborg. He was small, that was true, but it didn't mke any sence to the Elite for someone to move so fast with so much armor on. Then, it was over for the Elite as Drake pulled the trigger and a seemingly endless stream of bullets flew from ten meters away into the Elites head. When the body fell though, Drake was shocked at what was standing in the doorway at the end of the room....... any soldiers worst nightmare come true..... Hunters, AND Brutes! "Aw damn..." Drake said under his breath.
DUHN DUHN DUUUHHHNNN....... TO BE CONTINUED.... THIS WHOLE STORY (INCLUDING ALL OF ITS PARTS) IS JUST ONE OF MANY, MANY ENTERTANING STORIES TO COME. BE PREPARED TO WAIT A LITTLE WHILE FOR THE NEXT PART IN THE SPARTAN III SIRIES, THE BIGGER THEY ARE.... THE MORE SATISFYING IT IS TO BLOW THEM UP!!!

PART 2: THE BIGGER THEY ARE, THE MORE SATISFYING IT IS TO BLOW THEM UP......
The blast doors opened and Drake was horrified at what he saw, Hunters and Brutes. Everything seemed to fall apart then. The Marines were scared out of their minds when a greenish glow started to fill the room... not a good sign. The Brutes charged with their guns lighting up the temple foyer. Drake counted maybe five or six after the first one entered and was shot down. The first one in was almost always killed. Drake's comm.-link filled his helmet with chatter from the other Spartans. "You guys see what I see?" Drake recognized the Russian accent that belonged to Vladimir-603. Joseph-092's sarcastic voice answered, "Geez just when you thought it was over. Looks like we're gonna be here a while longer Chief." "Looks that way. Stand your ground men, and protect the Marines," John said. Suddenly Drake turned his head to be face to face with an angry Brute, raised his AR and quickly made it cheese. Then Drake's body started to move on its own. He began to run forward, but an Elite got in his way. He put away his AR and pulled out a plasma sword he'd been saving, flipped the switch, and cut through the alien's shields to the black armor. Next thing the Elite knew he was cut in half from the shoulder down. After that, Drake looked up to see he was running toward a Hunter with its back turned, exposing the weak, orange skin. An idea came to him so Drake discarded the plasma sword for a frag grenade. He jumped, and shoved the grenade into its back. This, of course, didn't go unnoticed by the Hunter, who shook him off. "MOVE!" Drake yelled to the others. "3...2...1..." he muttered to himself. As if on cue, the Hunter screamed and exploded, knocking its partner down. It was perfect timing for Sgt. Johnson, who jumped onto its chest and filled it full of bullets. Now all that was left was taking care of the Brutes and the rest of the original Covenant force.
John was on fire. Nothing could touch him. A Jackal tried to sneak up on him, but he broke its neck with one kick. Drake and Matt-883 joined him in the killing. "Room for two Chief?" Drake asked. "Any help is appreciated." "Good 'cause we need some cover too," Matt said. Pretty soon, the battle was subsiding. Most of the Grunts had retreated despite the orders of the remaining Elites. "Run away! Run away!" some Grunts were screaming. Others were petrified with fear. "Please don't kill me!" one pleaded when cornered by Pvt. Conlees. Conlees tried to pull his trigger, but he couldn't. He remembered how horribly the Grunts were treated by the Elites and Jackals when he was held on board the Truth and Reconciliation with Captain Keyes, and helped destroy the cloaked CCS dreadnaught, the Invincibility, which had been blockading Earth without being seen. He was one of the only ones to escape the Flood and the destruction of Halo 04 along with Sgt. Johnson, ODST trooper Locklear, and Warrant Officer Polaski, just not on the same ship. The rest of the Grunts were huddled in a corner quivering, the Jackals were hiding behind their plasma shields, but were all killed by a well placed grenade thrown by Lt. Vescuria. The Spartans were moping up the rest of the Elites and Brutes. It was over now, it just had to be. Yes, it was finally over.
]In the aftermath of the fight, all was calm. The surviving Grunts were taken prisoner while John, Drake, and Sgt. Johnson were discussing how they would escape, for they knew reinforcements would arrive soon. "You know Chief, if you and the others hadn't shown up, we probably been toast. So thanks" "Man you guys kicked butt back there Chief. Ya'll rock!!" one Marine by the name of Cpl. McDruga spoke up. "Don't say stuff about what we do like that corporal. We Spartans don't kill for the heck of it; we do what we have to and kill when we have to; to protect Earth and Humanity," John said sternly, "got that?" "Yes sir," McDruga agreed but still kept his good mood. "So Chief," Johnson asked, "don't we need an escape plan or something?" John just nodded silently, "Cortana," he said in his helmet, "do you think you can come up with a SAFE plan this time?" "And just what is that supposed to mean?" she snapped. "Nothing... So, sleep well?" "No thanks to your driving, yes," she chuckled at the familiar question.
While the conversation was going on, Drake asked one veteran Spartan, Fredrick, some questions. "Hey Fred, out of curiosity, how old is John anyway?" "Ah well, lets see now, he was about 41 on Halo, so now he'd probably be around 60 or so." "Whoa, that's old. How does he stay in shape?" "Because he is a cyborg, the mechanical half of him extends his life span, and all Spartan II's life spans for that matter, dramatically. He could live to be 150 without showing any signs of age!" "But what about me? I'm a Spartan III. My cybernetic components are a bunch of microchips hooked up to all of my body systems to form a "wireless" connection to my neural implants and my suit." "Even hooked to your cardio respiratory system?" "Yeah." "Then yes. "Cool." This little talk had been on private channel, and both were startled when John overrode the private channel system and spoke to all of the Spartans, "Pack up men, we're moving out."
NOTE THAT THE CHARACTERS NAMED McDRUGA, AND REDMOND ARE THERE TO HONOR TWO OF MY FRIENDS'S DADS, BOTH OF WHOM DIED OF CANCER. SO PLEASE, WHEN YOU SEE A FUNDRAISER OR SOMETHING TO HELP STOP CANCER, REMEMBER THESE NAMES AND THINK, "HEY, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN MY DAD," AND TAKE PART IN THAT FUNDRAISER AND HELP THE WORLD. THINK, YOUR DONATION COULD BE THE ANSWER TO SAVING LIVES. GOD BLESS YOU ALL........

PART 3: OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS TO GOD ONLY KNOWS WE GO.....
The forest was quiet save for the occasional chirping of the thousands of unknown species of birds, or things that sounded like birds..... Footsteps broke the silence of the forest floor. The Spartans and Marines were moving toward the chosen drop zone, where the Marines first landed. But first they needed to make sure that they wouldn't have any unwanted followers. So before they left, the planted charges all around the temple, and two Spartans stayed behind to blow it up along with the inevitable Covie reinforcements that would arrive. The Spartan armor had a new feature; it could blend in perfectly with its surroundings and was activated by direct thought, so now, even though the Spartans came in many different colors and patterns, it wouldn't matter. "Hey how do we know they'll actually show up?" one asked. "We activated an alarm beacon on the armor of one dead Elite. So they'll defiantly be interested." "Oh." A little while longer, and the Covies ran in to assist, and the trigger was pulled. The group of soldiers heard the blast of the Forerunner temple's destruction, and the scream of Engineers who had witnessed the Forerunner artifact destroyed from several miles away. The Marines were nervous. "How much longer 'till we get there Sarge?" Medic Redmond asked. "Will you keep your sorry traps shut?! These woods could be filled with Covies. So to keep you ladies quiet, we're about two klicks away." The Marines all moaned in their minds as not to give away their position, and not to get Sgt. Johnson mad. "Wait, what was that?" Conlees whispered. "I don't know." McDruga replied. They listened more closely, and to their disappointment they classified it as the whistle of a Banshee maybe two. Sgt. Johnson heard it, and so did the cloaked Spartans. Now the hopes of making it out alive were beginning to disappear. Pvt. Godfry complained, "Aw for crying out loud what's next?! Shades?!" Just then purple balls of pippin hot plasma came from all around. "TAKE COVER!!!!!!!!" Sgt. Johnson yelled. "No!" John said sharply, "We must keep moving. I'll have Cortana call the evac." "You got it Master Chief!" "But what about those Banshees? The evac`s gonna have a tough time even getting to the surface," Cortana said in an exasperating tone. "Save your whining for later and call for evac." "Alright all ready sheesh. This is fire team Tango calling any UNSC forces in orbit, please respond." Silence fallowed. "Roger fire team Tango this is Anvil-573, all I need is the coordinates and I'll be on my way." "Affirmative Anvil-573 we see you in the sky, is this from the Judgment Day?" "That's a big 10-4 Cortana good to hear from ya'll." Drake interrupted, "I'm sure this is a REAL happy meeting for you two, but we've got a galactic war going on so if you don't mind..." "OK OK!! Here are the coordinates." Then, Drake's comm.-link came alive with the sound of John's voice. "Kid, I want you to follow me to take out those shades." Drake nodded in agreement, and into the thick brush they went. The Spartans had turned off their cloaking devices and had joined the fight. Matt-181 had pulled out his shotgun and Vladimir got out a rocket launcher. Drake put up his assault rifle for a plasma rifle. He needed the extra range to take out the Banshees if they were to attack, and the far away turrets. By this time, most of the shades had been flipped or destroyed, but those Banshees were really giving the soldiers trouble. "If I could just get a clear shot-"Vladimir started to say. "You mean without worrying about being blind sighted by one from behind?" Matt cut him off. "Right. I could blow these turds out of the friggin' sky!" Despite the Spartan's quiet nature, something in the air made them a little more... lively to a certain extent. The lead Banshee began an attack run, bad move... "C'mon just a little closer," Vladimir mumbled. Streams of plasma rained down on Vladimir and Matt, but they didn't care. As soon the Banshee was close enough, the rocket was let lose and the Banshee disintegrated in a ball of fire. ]"This is Pelican Anvil-573 on approach. You better get to that LZ fast 'cause I ain't waitn' on you." "Understood Judgment Day we're on our way," Cortana said, "Chief, we have to hurry or else we'll miss our plane." "Copy that. Guys, we need to get a move on." No one stopped to shoot anymore they just ran like the dickens towards the Pelican. The hatch opened and everyone squeezed in, and the Pelican flew off into the vacuum of space.
01250 HOURS JUNE 6, 2589 (MILITARY CAENEDER) ONI SECTION THREE PINNICLE BASE, PERRY, INNER COLONY 07539281/380, DELTA NU SYSTEM THREE MONTHS LATER....
The new Spartan training facility was abundant of life. Everyone was busy, mostly scientists, and the Spartans were being taught, in the gym, of on the obstacle course. Not Drake though. He was busy doing SCHOOL WORK!!! Being the only kid on base, he had to get a tutor, just like the Spartans before him. Matt was the only exception because he had to finish his high-school level tutoring. "Lets see now 3(-2 to the -2 power)4+5 over 5x3 equals.... what?" Just then, Matt walked into Drakes quarters, breaking Drake's concentration. "Hey man, ready to hit the course? Heard they changed it up a bit, then we can go to the D-Day Ceremony." "Sure Matt, just let me finish this assignment." "Nah c'mon Drake lets go now. I'll help you finish later on ok?" "Well... ok," Drake replied as he clicked off his holo-pad. When Drake and Matt were walking down the hallway with their helmets in their arms, they saw a new Spartan that they hadn't seen before. It was a Spartan III with white armor and strolled past them with the casual feminine walk. She couldn't have been any older than Drake judging by height alone and Drake and Matt stood to next to the wall looking back, wide-eyed. She stopped, turned around, took off her helmet, and looked back at them and said, "You boys going t check out the new course?" All Drake could do was stutter, but Matt covered for him and told her that yes they were going to the new course. "That's cool. So what're your names?" "I'm Gunnery Sergeant Matt-181, and this is--" "—Drake, Second Lieutenant Drake-315, Spartan III number one. And you are?" "Natasha-316, FIRST Sergeant, though I'm gonna be promoted to Sergeant Major at the ceremony tonight. Spartan III number two, second product of the Spartan III program. It's an honor to meet the First one, face-to-face." That made Drake feel kind of awkward. He never thought someone would consider it an honor to meet HIM. "Uh thanks Natash--" "Call me Nat for short please. I never liked my full name." "Ok Nat....(That's a weird nickname) I look forward to seeing you at the ceremony, see ya." He and Matt then proceeded towards the course, shocked and bewildered.
