After First Strike: part one
Date: 12 June 2004, 6:24 PM

940 hours, September 15, 2552 (revised date, Military Calendar)/Aboard UNSC vessel Gettysburg, in Slipspace.

The Master Chief was walking back and forth on the Bridge of the Gettysburg waiting for Cortana to say something. They were now in Slipspace on there way to Earth. They have just performed operation First Strike against a Covenant armada on a rest stop to Earth, and caught them just in time. The only people who made it out alive were him, Fred, Linda, William and Sergeant Johnson. There were others alive before their first strike against the Covenant armada. Grace, a Spartan who fought next to him for so many years, and now she's dead. There are four other soldiers who died as well, Corporal Locklear, Warrant Officer Shiela Polaski, Lieutenant Elias Haverson and Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb. Grace died in the Covenant battle station Unyielding Hierophant in the first strike. The rest died before the operation. John remembered about the new species of alien that he encountered in the Covenant battle station...the Brute. They were stronger and taller than an average Elite, dark grey skin with some hair here and there. If it wasn't for his MJOLNIR armour, he would be dead by now.
It is to bad that slowly all his friends are dying, and soon, he will to. "We will be landing on Earth in three hours," Cortana explained "This ship is to crippled to land properly so be prepared for a rough landing. "Yes Cortana." John tried to use the COM channel to warn the others about the situation, nobody answered. The Spartans were in the bay trying to repair a longsword. John went quickly down to the bay of the Gettysburg, slowly but Shurly he eventually made it there. He needed to warn everybody about the rough ride on Earth, for some reason nobody was answering the COM channel. What the hell was going on. "Answer me Spartans, that's an order," he barked, no answer. He clicked a few buttons on the side of the entrance door, and the doors slowly opened. It was quiet, to quiet. He didn't go in, first he looked around. The first thing he saw was a brutally battered body lying in a pool of blood with melted pieces of the MJOLNIR armour around the body. He couldn't tell who it was. Next he saw Fred and Linda in a corner behind a warthog. He quickly whipped out his battle rifle expecting a camouflaged Elite. It must of escaped Ascendant Justice and came into the Gettysburg. He sprinted across the bay, bolts of plasma came racing from were he had just come from. He dodged the shots and fired were the bolts came from. He heard a moan and then a scream as he continued to fire. Soon the Elite became visible and fell dead onto the cold metallic floor. Fred and Linda came out of there corner and gave a satisfying sigh. He walked up to the dead alien and saw that he had shot him through the throat, he smiled until he looked at Will. ''You like looking at dead bodies, we need to focus on what the real problem is,'' John shouted in a cold and unsatisfying voice. ''There is nothing we can do, the Gettysburg will be landing in the...Pacific ocean of Earth. He wasn't to good in the Earth's geography. He remembers his teacher Déjà, those were the good old days, without the dying and the killing...the covenant. ''We will be having a rough landing into the ocean and possibly get destroyed, the ship is so crippled, the hull can't take it. We will rip open like the titanic, the armoury in the central-left quarter of the ship, in the emergency area near the airlocks is the safest place in the ship." They waited impatiently for the crash into the ocean of Earth, in the armoury. Moments later Sergeant Johnson met them in the armoury with Cortana. Johnson handed Cortana to John and he plopped her into his head. He felt the cool mercury feeling flow inside his skull and then it slowly faded.

Minutes before the fatal landing, John warned his team to hold on to something. ''Thirty seconds, '' Cortana announced. Shiela's scream was going threw his head over and over. ''Twenty seconds. '' Images of Grace's dead body. ''Ten seconds. '' And now, images of his fate in...The Spartans heard the hull explode and the sound of metal ripping apart. And heard water rushing through the sides of the Gettysburg. "Cortana, damage report," the Master Chief ordered. "You can call the Gettysburg the Titanic now," Cortana said in a worried voice, "If you don't get out now, you'll be dead just like the people on the Titanic." "Why couldn't you just land the ship gently in a docking bay," Linda asked. "The Covenant Slipspace was to powerful for a human engine, luckily I managed to stop Slipspace before we entered the atmosphere." Cortana said in a frustrated voice. "I had no way of stopping this."

The Gettysburg was rapidly sinking deep into the Pacific ocean of the Earth. John was trying to figure out a way to get out without dying. They all heard a big thump, the Gettysburg hit the bottom of the ocean. There was so much pressure, the Spartans had no problem with this but Johnson did. "Were in deep shit," Sergeant Johnson said, and fell unconscious.

After First Strike: part two
Date: 18 June 2004, 1:55 AM

1040 hours, September 16, 2552 (Military Calendar)/ UNSC High Command (HighCom) Facility Bravo-6, Sydney, Australia, Earth.

Lt. Commander O'Donoghue entered the room very quietly making sure not to disturb the other...higher ranked officers. The doors locked behind him. ''Sir,'' he said to Fleet Admiral Hood. "The Gettysburg sir, she has crashed into the pacific about 10,000 km off shore, sir. Approximately 120 degrees west and 30 degrees south." Admiral Hood sat up, "Lieutenant, come with me."

2114 hours, September 16, 2552 (Military Calendar)/Aboard UNSC vessel Gettysburg, Pacific ocean.

John sat uncomfortably on a metal bench outside the armory. Sergeant Johnson Finally woke up, by puicing everything he ate in the morning. The Spartans were bored and afraid of death. John didn't want to die like this, he wanted to die fighting, fighting for his friends and human kind.
"Were getting a signal" Cortana said. "It's from an Australian sub, I'm sending them a message." The COM channel turned on inside John's helmet, "Admiral are you there, Whitcomb, answer me, this is Fleet Admiral Hood, do you read me." John sighed and answered, "This is Master Chief Petty Officer, Spartan 117. I'm the highest rank on this vessel, I read you." "What's going on Chief." The Chief explained everything to the Admiral as fast as he could, they needed to get out.
Minutes later there was a clank sound, the Australian sub "gadget" was now attached to the Gettysburg. Sergeant Johnson puiced again but he got up hiding the pain. The Admiral and his crew walked out of the Gadget to meet the Spartans. John saw them first, he was surprised by there ranks. There was Fleet Admiral Hood, Chief Petty Officer Bekins, Petty Officer 3rd class Lah'noy, Petty Officer 2nd class Bilodeau, Master Chief Petty Officer Nickelson and Lieutenant Commander O'Donoghue. He saluted to the Admiral and he saluted back. "Explain Chief, the Covenant have found Earth?" "Yes," he answered still standing straight with his hand at his forehead. "At ease son," the Admiral said. It was quiet for a couple a seconds until the rest of the Spartans got there. They all saluted. "Lets go" the Admiral quickly said. All ten of them marched back in the Gadget.
John was surprised at the enormous hallways of the Gadget. It was built for war and nothing else. He wondered how much time they had left before the covenant will get to Earth.

0650 hours, September 17, 2552 (Military Calendar)/ UNSC High Command (HighCom) Facility Bravo-6, Sydney, Australia, Earth.

The Master Chief had to talk to the Officers, he needed to tell them his plan. He entered the room with Admiral Hood which made fell a little bit better. Major General Straus was looking quite frustrated. John looked at him straight in the eye. He quickly looked away. "The Covenant have found Earth and are heading towards it," he slammed the table with a fist "We need to be ready." The Admiral quickly said as he got into his chair. The Officers were swearing and yelling, all worried about what has happened. One pulled out a pistol and shot the ceiling and yelled "SHUT UP." Everything fell silent. "Thank you Bicknell," the Admiral sighed. They discussed and plotted what they would do against the covenant. The Master Chief had a simple plan,
1. Get Gettysburg out of the ocean.
2. Repair Gettysburg.
3. Get every single UNSC ship that is left, in orbit.
4. Send team to protect orbital MAC gun generators.
5. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Admiral Hood agreed, it was the only thing they could do. Colonel Ackerson disagreed, he slammed his fists against the table and yelled "You blind bastards, this man is going to kill us all with his idiotic plans." He pulled out a pistol and shot the Master Chief in the Head...his shield was on, the bullet flicked away. The Master Chief quickly grabbed the pistol out of the mad man's hands. He grabbed the Colonel by the throat has squeezed until blood was poring down his mouth and nose. He then let go, the Colonel fell to the floor grabbing his throat. The Officers were staring at John. He didn't usually do that but CPO Mendez had always told him to neutralize the enemy or any threat. He left the room.
Outside the room he joined his fellow remaining Spartans and Sergeant Johnson. Fleet Admiral Hood followed him out of the room. "It's alright Chief, we've been wanting to do that to him for a long time." "what's he talking about," asked Fred. John and the Admiral laughed.
John and his team went to Sydney's Docking Bay with the Admiral. Three submarines went off into the Pacific to get the Gettysburg out of the polluted ocean. Cortana was placed in ONI's section four deep inside an underground facility in Sydney. Things got complicated. Cortana estimated that the Covenant would arrive and ring the door bell in 26 hours. She quickly opened a private COM channel to the Chief to explain the negative news. The Chief's eyes widened and walked up to the Admiral. He was with Major General Straus and Lt. O'Donoghue contemplating the battle over some brandy and a cigar. "Sir, permission to speak?" John said. "Yes, of course," Admiral Hood replied, "What is it." John told him the bad news about the Covenant being so close to attacking. His eyes widened, he turned around facing the crewmen working were the Gettysburg was going to arrive, "Hustle," he yelled at the top of his lungs, "Hustle hustle hustle."

A few hours later the Gettysburg rose in the air supported by giant metal rods and bars. Thousands of engineers were repairing, loading and refueling the Gettysburg. As he was watching the workers, he felt happy, like if he had already won the war against the Covenant. He had warned Earth about the attack, and now they were about to give them hell.
Linda looked at him in confusion when he whispered this, "It's party time."

After First Strike: part three
Date: 24 June 2004, 8:11 PM

1450 hours, September 17, 2552 (Military Calendar)/ Docking Bay East-Wood-011, Sydney, Australia, Earth.

The Gettysburg was still being repaired to fight one last time, in the losing battle against the Covenant. Earth was their last and final option, human kind can't go anywhere else but Earth. There last hope for victory is here. The Covenant out number the humans by tens of thousands of alien warriors, vessels and planets. But there is still hope, because Earth has one thing the Covenant don't have...Spartans. The Spartans are not afraid of death, they will neutralize any threat to the human race and will risk there lives to push the Covenant away from the humans and back where they belong...HELL. They have been trained to destroy the Covenant race, hold them by their throats and squeeze them until they choke on their own blood. They will fall, the Spartans will snap their spines and walk on top of them and claim victory because they are Spartans, and no matter what, they never give up.
Ships were taking off to establish a perimeter of defense in orbit. The sky was filling up with hundreds of ships. John counted forty-five ships left in Sydney's Docking Bay. Four carriers, eighteen destroyers, seven cruisers and the rest of them were longsword interceptors. Every ship was leaving, one by one they left to meet each other in space and got into their positions. "Were going to give them a nice warm welcome aren't we Chief," the Admiral said. While John was watching the Gettysburg getting refitted, he thought of a mission, a risky one but it might buy Earth a few days or even more. "Admiral, I've thought of something for my team, a mission." The Admiral looked at him very curiously. "Oh really, what is it." The Master Chief explained his mission to the Admiral. "I want the super MAC gun generators protected by as many squads as possible of course, but along with my Spartans, the marines will need them. As for me I will be going into the Gettysburg with you. I will then try and finish my original mission, enter a Covenant ship and Cortana and I will make orders to retreat the Covenant army and find where their home planet is. It's a risky mission but I think I'll be able to do it with Cortana." The Admiral's eyes widened, "I don't know Chief we have to...it's way to risky, we can't make any mistakes." "Trust me Admiral, I don't make mistakes." "Very well," the Admiral sighed, and he walked away.

1320 hours, September 17, 2552 (Military Calendar)/Aboard Pelican Dropship, Super MAC gun underground facility located in Kansas Forest, Kansas, U.S.A., Earth.

The sky was grayish black with heavy rain, the pelican dropship was going over a thick forest with dark green trees. The Spartans could see a giant clearing in the forest where the trees had been cut down, the underground facility was located there. Linda, Fred and a squad of marines lead by Sergeant Johnson were on their way to the super MAC gun generators. The generators are located underground in Kansas Forest, U.S.A.. It was a boring four hour flight, but it was the only way to get there. Linda and Fred didn't know if they were ever going to see John ever again. Nobody was talking, everybody was just staring at the metallic floor the pelican had, except for Corporal Hillman, he was sleeping. The only sound heard was the constant drone of the pelican's engine monotonously rumbling the same tune over and over and even louder, the Corporal's snoring. The COM channel went on inside the pelican, "we will be arriving in two minutes so get ready"...the COM channel went dead and the Corporal woke up.
Linda and the rest of the troops arrived at the underground facility where the generators were located. There were at least three hundred marines, and when the Covenant are going to try and take them out, another three hundred hell jumper marines will drop out of the sky and are going to come and ambush them. General Frost was leading them all, he had brilliant plans to take them all down one by one. Surrounding the generators were seven large bunkers, each of them had six 50mm stationary chain guns and enough room for seventeen more marines. In the far corners of the underground room were sniper towers, big enough to hold seven snipers each. The room also had eight scorpion tanks along with sixteen warthogs. The rest of the troops are going to hide outside the facility with twenty-three junglehogs, including Fred and Linda. Every one was already into positions. An alarm started to scream. The marines were all ears, there was an almost silent humming. Fred looked up and noticed dozens of Covenant dropships in the distance.

2150 hours, September 17, 2552 (Military Calendar)/ Docking Bay East-Wood-011, Sydney, Australia, Earth.

Admiral Hood and some chosen Junior Officers are now on board the Gettysburg along with John. The last of the ships were taking off into space. The Gettysburg was the last one two take off. "Miss me," Cortana giggled. "You could say that John said. The Master Chief was standing on the bridge with the Admiral, and Cortana. The Gettysburg rose up into the sky like a rock being blasted out of a catapult. Once they were in space and in orbit, John looked at the screens on the bridge, they were filled with stars and human vessels. "Now we wait."
"Uh-oh, we have trouble," Cortana yelled. Covenant destroyers and carriers appeared below them. The Carriers were already dropping off dropships, so many of them. "Damn Covenant Slipspace," the Admiral yelled. "Chief, you now what to do, Cortana give me a navigational process that could bring us directly above that destroyer." "Can do Admiral."
"Lets blow them to hell!"
