Why?.........Why me? Why us? Why humanity? What the hell did we do to deserve this? Plain and simply, why?
God only knows why....... and I bet we will never know. But for now I must do my duty for my family, my friends, and for the fate of humanity. But stuck in this hellhole makes you wonder of such things. I mean destruction all around you..... scared every second..... death in the air.... or is it the sight of your friends' dead bodies that cause you to go insane. But no i'm not insane. The survivors call me lucky. Hell im not lucky! Not lucky at all. The lucky ones are the ones that are dead. They are lucky because they wait in paradise and watch us as we suffer here down on Earth. I used to come to Earth and love to be here. But not now. The covenant have almost fully destroyed Earth. Us surviving marines try to fight them but we know we are not gonna make a deference. So why are we fighting? Why why why?

Sergeant Turner looked around at the death and destruction. The buildings destroyed. Piles of debrey lay everwhere. Smoke blocked out the sun so everywhere there was darkness. In that darkness waited the devil, just waiting for you to die so he could swipe you and carry you down to the flames of Hell. Its the devils fault for all of this, Turner thought. He created this Hell on Earth. And theres nothing Humanity and even God could have done to prevent it.
"Lets move out marines," bellowed Turner. The beat up looking marines turned to him and nodded. they turned and strode forward. There destination.......... Uknown. They had little food left and not much ammo too. They hadn't slept in days. As they marched over the debrey from the last battle one marine collapsed. Two others ran to him and helped him up. They took his canteen and gave him a few drops of water from it. Sergeant looked at his map then at his surroundings.
"I know where we are!" He said."We're in what used to be downtown Atlanta! I used to work around here," he said."Wait a second. I think I know where we could get some food and a place to sleep for the night. Follow me!"
The marines turned to each other and shrugged.
Sergeant Turner led them to a blown up building. He looked up at it and remembered the good old days where there was no war on Earth. He glanced up and then continued into the rundown building. There was debrey from chairs and tables that were in the building when the covenant blew it up.
"Why are we in here?" a marine wispered to another.
The one listening shrugged. Turner stop in one room. He removed the dusty carpet that layed on the floor.
"Its a bloody underground bunker!" said a excited marine.
The sergeant opened up the doors to meet the barrel of a M90 shotgun.

Clarry put down the shotgun when she realized that the group were marines. She exhaled and invited them down the stairs. As they followed her she asked," What are you marines doing here?"
"We are trying to find a place to stay for a while until we are better. Since I used to work here I remembered that there was an underground bunker," said a marine. She guessed that he was in charge.
"My name is Clarry Anderson," she said.
"A pleasure to meet you miss Anderson. Im sergeant John Turner,"said the marine.
"You stay here while I get you some food and a first aid kit," she said as she went down the hall.

Sergeant Turner turned towards his marines.
"We'll stay here a few days,"he said. The marines cheered.
A minute later Clarry returned with a cart full of food. She also had a box that had the words FIRST AID on it. The marines ate as they passed jokes and stories. Turner grabbed a chicken wing and ate it.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm," he said as he went for another bite.
"I haven't had good food in a while," he said to Clarry as she strode toward him.
"Thank you," she said." But Sergeant I need to talk to you about some of your marines." Turner's smile vanished nodded towards the other room. Then he got up and escorted her there.
"Some of your marines have sustained really bad injurys. Do you want me to operate on them here. Or wait untill you find a Hospital that hasn't been blown up by the covenant yet?"
"Your very persuasive," said Sergeant Turner." I know there isn't a building around here for miles that hasn't been blown up! But just asking are you a nurse?"
"Im a doctor," she said.
"Then I give you permission to operate on my marines mam."
The sergeant went into the other room, sat down on a bed, and dozed off.
He was awakend suddenly by a large explosion. He got up and ran into the main room.
"Whats going on?" he asked.
"The covenant are checking for survivors outside,"said a marine. Everyone watched the entrance to the bunker as they heard footsteps upstairs. Plasma burned throught the trap door. Turner grabbed his rifle and aimed."Damn things just got hot," he thought." and I bet its gonna get really bad soon." He was right.
